You know what? We played well last night and were unlucky on a number of fronts. Yes the ref was poor, yes we hit the woodwork a couple of times, had a goal ruled out, dominated for spells and forced a few great saves from their keeper. We didn't get what we deserved and that my friends, is football. YNWA
Yeah its a funny old game, my worry is (and Reina spotted it too from what i could tell) is the lack of protection for Skrtel and Agger. They had alot of good play in the centre just in front of our central defence where Spearing should be biting at their legs! His game did pick up though as it went on until the ref interveined!
re: DR. henderson was very poor positionally and clearly has no experience in a 4-3-3. he left johnson exposed and others had to filter over to cover... add to thatadam has a tendancy to come forward to close down you'll see why they were able to get more space than they should have had. Luckily fulham are not a direct side. they passed it sidewards and back so much when a break was on!
Although you have got Dembele who looks like he can run about 50m in half a second when he gets going.
Agree with the OP, we are playing well at the moment but its just the cutting edge that is missing right now! I think it may be my fault about the Fulham result; I was thinking how good Reina is and then he makes an howler! Sorry guys I think it was the kiss of death!
Don't blame yourself mate, we have a poster on here who goes by the name of Bluff City Red. It's a known fact that our chances are considerably reduced when he watches a game.
We're considering banning Bluff from watching - he's only seen one game we've won this season, in the Carling Cup against Chelsea, oddly enough...
So I should keep watching the CC games then right? Which on that note btw, now that United are out of CL they will for sure put a strong team out against City, the same with City, they will have to make a choice on fielding a strong team against United or us. Top stuff.
Haha, it is nice seeing the misery going on, even though we have our own set of problems! The big man upstairs decide to give us a smile after the Fulham result!
what goes around comes around - all the lovely comments about Thursday night football last season, and where do they find themselves... Oh Schadenfreude...
