The fact he personally flew to Germany to try and convince Tel makes it that bit more comedic . Levy and Lange have almost certainly ****ed it. A crap summer followed by what looks to be an abysmal winter barring some minor miracle where a van der Vaart or two may appear… and how likely is that? Usually I’d be frothing and writing essays of discontent but nowadays it’s more just “oh we’ve done crap again? Standard”…
Yeah it was a deal that would’ve used the Kane money Bayern still owed. Far as I can see we can’t/ won’t spend £60m on anyone else.
Interested to see what our next move is now. Signing Paratici on a long term deal from summer 2025 might be the best signing we can make. I miss those days.
Apparently tomorrow is close, according to sky italy. €30m. Imagine if he rejects us too. The meltdown on twitter will be special.
Queue the social media meltdowns. We can’t force players to sign. Or maybe he was asking for wages higher than we were prepared to offer? If he doesn’t want to come to us, that’s not necessarily down to us. That’s just football.
...and then when Tel meets Paelladyce for the first time, he'll be on the phone begging to join us PDQ
Tel’s apparently open to a move to Villa though. Just shows how much they’re in an ascent, and we’re on the decline. We aren’t an attractive option, it would appear.
Indeed. Anyway, the dominant issue this season is presenting the opposition with sufficient opportunities having a high likelihood of being converted. If that is due to the "system" (as I and others believe) then change it. If due to not having the correct type of player (DM etc) , then go and acquire them.
Tomori hasn’t even signed yet (still might not) and people are already saying he’s the replacement for Romero
(IF) we get Tomori I’d be really pleased. Excellent defender, Tall, strong , quick and decent on the ball. With the news Tel has turned us down just hope we have another option to turn to.
