How long before Preston go into admin with this dream team For anyone who is unsure what i'm talking about Ridsdale is now preston Chairman http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11697/7355439/Ridsdale-takes-Preston-role
There is a saying "Anyone can err, but only the fool persists in his fault". Lets hope for the sake of this great club PNE, that both PB and Ridsdale have learnt from bitter experience.
I live in West Cumbria in a small village near Whitehaven. Derek Bird territory for anyone who doesn't know usually helps them put it on the map.
I used to come to Whitehaven to see a fishing guy Ricky Donnan, who died many years ago and his son's blew is wealth from what I remember in a couple of years.
His grandson Roy Donnan was in my younger brothers year at school, he will now be 18/19. Small world.
It is indeed Egremont the home to the world championships as the annual crab fair. Where they also have the annual world championship of climbing up a greasy pole to touch a dead Turkey at the top. A very strange weekend indeed.
How does that disaster of a man keep getting jobs in football? Maybe there's hope for Duffen after all?
It is wierd, but in the case of Plymouth they brought him in because of the Winding up Order already in place. His job was basically to see them through administration and get the club sold. Which he did. He is a prat though.
What has happened then to Maurice Lindsay ? Or has he brought in P.R. to run things day to day ? Crazy move. With news that Portsmouth have appointed an Agent to sell there best players in Jan, what price one or both of these clubs in administration before the end of the season. Am sure that there is room for Paul Duffen somewhere.
Tickler. Lindsey retired last week. Won't take them two long to p1ss whatever money Preston have left, if any. Think Duffen went to the same school of economic prudence, and how to run a football club, as Ridsdale, allegedly.
You have brought back our experience of last year when we were touring your area the day Derek Bird went on his rampage and believe we may have passed him in our car at some point. We were staying at the "Whisky Barn" and went back in the afternoon to find the place locked up as a police TV/radio alert had been issued to lock all doors and remain inside until further notice. A day to remember I suppose!
