I wonder if we hung on against them in St Mary's would our season have panned out any differently. Might have given us a bit more confidence. We'd still be last but I think we may have a few more points, not withstanding the two from that match
Well, getting Dibling, Sulemana and Ramsdale back certainly makes me more confident we can win this (not saying we will before people jump on me).
I think about this too. I really think if we had got 6 points from Ipswich and Leicester then Martin would still be here and we would be in the fight. Mentality is such a big part of our problem that the confidence would have done wonders.
"Nathan Wood and Ryan Fraser have picked up something and will be out" A pen, to sign for a different team?
Here’s hoping that Michael Oliver has been sent a video highlighting the amount of holding that Ipswich players are getting away with at corners. I’m still holding my breath for a ref to see holding and pulling, prior to a corner, and for that ref to not hold the corner up to chat with the players involved but to keep watching them and then penalise the first one he sees committing a foul. It’s the only way to combat it, imo.
Presumably Gronbaek will feature too. Could end up being quite a different side to the one against Newcastle.
Sutton's prediction: 2 - 1 Southampton's fight is not about whether they can stay up, it is whether they can avoid being the worst Premier League team of all time and beat Derby County's total of 11 points from 2007-08. Ipswich are still battling to avoid relegation, but I am worried about them in this game. I don't think Ipswich will keep a clean sheet this time, either, but I am backing Liam Delap to come good, and help them pick up what would be a huge three points. Anton Pearson's prediction: 2 - 0; I've gone for Ipswich here. I feel for Southampton - I know a lot of Norwich fans and from them I know how miserable it can be to get promoted to the Premier League and have a horrible season.
Juric "I'm very happy Stephens is with us, They did a great job with his recovery. He's done two training sessions with us without any problems, and sometimes that doesn't happen. He's a quality and competitive player. I like him a lot." How d’ya like dem apples!?
As the aforementioned ‘marauding centre back’, he might actually not be *that* bad. (I do realise this is an example of how far we’ve fallen though).
Jesus H Christ. I hope he watches videos of his previous performances this season. The game against Chelsea was bad for any player. As Captain of a team going through hell, it was a full on embarrassment and I’d be more than happy to offload him.
His probing forward runs into the opposition lines caused chaos on more than one occasion. Yes, I know, straws and clutching he's not the Kaiser.
With a strong squad we could give this game a proper nudge. It’s reaching the point now that Juric is being tested. Either his methods and approach will bear fruit or be found wanting. Not that I hold him accountable for anything, I like what he’s done so far but Martin made us look good and lose games at times. Just give me a good 90mins not 20, a couple of goals, not one and a game where we don’t gift the opponent anything and I’ll be satisfied.
