I know it's not related to Saints, but I found this too funny not to share: http://newsthump.com/2011/12/05/man-utd-fans-face-long-trip-to-manchester-for-fa-cup-tie/ Man Utd fans face long trip to Manchester for FA Cup tie Fans of Premier League giants Manchester United are facing the prospect of a long journey up the M6 after they were handed an FA Cup third round tie against Manchester City. Some supporters of the current Premier League champions have revealed that actually going to a game will prove too difficult, and they will have to make do with watching the game on television like they normally do anyway. âI was hoping for something a bit more local,â said disappointed fan Richard Young. âIâve supported United since they started winning everything, and I havenât missed a game thatâs been televised since.â âHopefully if we win through to round four weâll get a local derby against Swindon.â Manchester Derby Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson expressed his sympathy for fans of the club, who face an arduous journey to their living room to watch the match. âItâs a shame for the fans,â he said. âIt would be nice for them to experience a real live football match inside an actual stadium, but thatâs the luck of the draw.â âI hope for their sakes that the game is on ITV or some of them might have to face the hardship of leaving their house and going to a pub.â âItâs definitely something the FA needs to look at.â
I'm actually embarrassed for all glory hunters. My advice..? Support your local team. It can be Bury or Port Vale or Chesterfield, for example, but at least it'll be genuine. You'll have a much greater sense of belonging, and that is way better than watching a team you have no connection with, occasionally win silverware. Give it a try.
Couldn't have summed it up any better. I am however fortunate that my local team is a half decent one!
If I come across a thread I don't like (for instance I suspect you are all going to compare girls boobs) I just ignore it and concentrate on those I will like. Simples.
It wasn't much of a input from me was it? Sorry! But that's all I got from the original poster instead of a response last time and this has nothing to do with Southampton.
Don't worry mate. Joe thinks he's uber cool. Old story though. Only posted on GC a couple of hours before.
People that have negative comments on here are clearly attention seeking idiots that think their point should be heard throughout! If you're going to post something that you don't like, then don't read it. I see lots of things on GC that irony like but I don't go individually posting every single one to tell them why!
Coming from you You're the douche that gets at people when they complain about how saints are playing. That is negative, sir. It's horrible when you make a fool of yourself isn't it.
Was that having a pop at me Mr golden boot? I don't generally make negative comments (see all past posts). However I will stand up for myself and be just as petty and ignorant to someone who does the same to me. I come on here to discuss Southampton not to make sly digs or pointless comments when people are asking a serious question.
