Here's how Autosport saw the 2011 season, any massively different thoughts from members? There were some none F1 awards but since this is the F1 board I'll stick to that for now. Bear in mind these awards are actually open to several formula's.

International Racing Driver of the Year
Sebastian Vettel has been named International Racing Driver of the Year for the second straight year

British Competition Driver of the Year
    Jenson Button

    Racing Car of the Year
The Red Bull RB7 has been named as Racing Car of the Year

    Rookie of the Year
Paul di Resta has been named as the AUTOSPORT.com Rookie of the Year

    Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Maybe Dario Franchitti for British Competition driver of the year?

Franchitti has also had a good year and was in the running, just pipped to the post it seems.

From a purely F1 point of view I couldn't disagree with those results... Vettel's been imperious all year, Button capitalised on Lewis' worst season to date and Di Resta has been very solid in his first season.

To be honest, what other options were there? Sticking with an F1 only point of view, the RB7 has been dominant, and Vettel in it. Button had an excellent season, and beat Button, and of the rookies on the grid, the only real other option is Perez (unless I'm forgetting someone), and I still think di Resta has had a more solid first season.

To be honest I saw LeMans and the Audi R18 was more deserving of the award than the RB7. Audi only made it so close was because both of their front runners said hello to a Ferrari that caused a crash, all under the 12 hour mark.

Before that they were both a good margin infront of the Audi,(third of a lap to half a lap) which in the end won and were comfortably beating the other 3 Peugeot's.

Good point. Also in the V8 Supercars the Triple 8 Vodafone Holden was very dominant as well.

The cars it "fought" off in the running were:

    McLaren MP4-26
    Audi R18 Peugeot 908
    The new generation Dallara GP2/11
World Touring Car Championship-dominating Chevrolet Cruze
