Been injured apparently. Fit right in then ! I read Tony Coton let in 5 goals on his WFC debut - imagine the reaction now ! Hopefully the new keeper can do well to live up to the hype .
I don't know if Wiki is jumping the gun, but the new keeper is now a Watford player. Estimated transfer value €1.7M, so within our price range.
His injury record shows that he was last out injured in February 2024 when he was playing for Burnley. He apparently attributes his lack of game time this season to former HC Russell Martin. Yes Coton conceded 5 on his debut, but that was in 1984 when everything about the club was different, and very little of the toxicity of today existed. I don't imagine for a minute that too many of the whingers on Twitter/Facebook were around back then.
Ah ok . That is definitely true . My point exactly. He would have been classed as rubbish /hopeless straight away .
Caleb Wliey (an American left back signed by Chelsea on a six year contract from MLS team Atlanta for approximately £8.5 million in July 2024) will sign a loan deal with Watford. He was loan at Ligue 1 club Strasbourg during the first half of the season. https://x.com/LucaBendoni/status/1885008883330007068
Caleb Wiley did not play a great deal at Strasbourg. He spent all of September and October sidelined with a knee problem and then most of November working his way back to full match fitness. He fell and dislocated his shoulder when he started a game against Nice, and had been playing well, at the end of November. Wiley (who only turned 20 in December) was side-lined for 6-8 weeks following surgery and the loan was terminated by Chelsea. "Wiley is known for his pace, crossing, and ability to contribute both offensively and defensively". (Wikipedia) He was considered the best left back in the MLS and has played in the United States national team, but his career appears to have been dogged by injury.
How long will he last ?! Apparently the keeper might only come on a short term deal now .. EDIT: Or a long term deal ? https://x.com/lucabendoni/status/1885065668363456826?s=46
With Celtic apparently bidding £10million for Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden, it may be that Rajovic isn't coming back here, in spite of rumours earlier this month. Shame really - he scored again for Brondby this afternoon in an Atlantic Cup fixture against FC Dallas
Not a great picture of him missing the ball and almost taking out a player ! https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...-sign-norwegian-international-keeper-udinese/
Cleverley might see Bachmann as number one still . There seem to be a lot revelling in the thought of this chap replacing DB. Hopefully for their sake they aren’t made to look silly ..
Another left back Targett but Matt not coming ? https://x.com/SkySportsNews/status/1885990103874515082
I am predicting that we will sign nobody, and if we don’t sign nobody, then we will sign a nobody!! seriously, I genuinely feel no-one will come in and there will be a bunch of excuses trotted out by Nani etc - as he preluded in his wobbly interview
