Leonard as a fighter was class.Leonard as a promoter put that **** in his place.DeLeHoya was the only one who put the fighter first FACT
Rebel, yeah I know that. It's just a shame Cus D'Amato didn't live long enough to guide and manage Tyson, once he became Heavyweight Champion.
Definitely. It has been often said but it is absolutely true. I am at the bit where Manny Steward said it wouldn't have happened if he was there....It is true.
There's a lot of hindsight in evidence here. But back then, whilst McClellan continued to fight, am not sure anyone is really culpable ? Ok,Stan Johnson.... I just found his fight record... WON 4 (KO,3) + LOST 40 (KO,37). http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=92488&cat=boxer Explains a lot ?
Irish, that was a lotta money back the too ! I had £20 on Watson to beat Eubank on points in '91..... went to watch it as well ! (never seen so many villians in one place, before or after !)
Tony Jeffries complaining on twitter about drugs in boxing. Specifically the guy he drew with......hmm....Drugs maybe helped him get the draw but being able to count to 8 had more to do with it. (Jeffries thought it was a 6 rounder)
Rebel, cheers for the link.Says there is an extended version week tuesday ? Dec 13th, 9pm CH4. I'll add a youtube link to the fight itself........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dc-G4KMOllU
Totally agree. Was a cracking and chilling fight, McClellan came with a ferocious reputation. Benn a better fighter than some gave him credit for.
