https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...n-defender-joe-anderson-can-leave-sunderland/ Le Bris confirmed last week that Sunderland are targeting a versatile forward rather than an out-and-out striker. One player who has been linked in the last week is former Middlesbrough forward Chuba Akpom, who will be allowed to leave Ajax this month. But Leicester City and Marseille are also now said to be keeping tabs on the ex-Arsenal youngster's situation. Akpom is thought to have been one of the attackers in Sunderland's thinking but there was always an acceptance it would be a difficult deal to do given the finances that would be involved and the competition from elsewhere. Reports from the Netherlands also claimed Akpom would be reluctant to return to the Championship.
I watched the Wycombe game last night and I was so impressed. I think a team will get him for £7-8m and won't regret it. Sounds like an extreme fee but I think Brentford ended up paying around £10m for Toney after addons and they didn't regret it.
I’d be happy with that. Alese injury. Hjelde covering two positions makes sense imo if a cheap deal can be reached
If we didn’t go up and managed to sell Ballard then bring in Mepham for a modest fee and Keane on a free that would be incredible business. That would be some CB pairing for a championship club.
