    Infantilisation ffs <laugh>

Just another way of trying to gloss over the atrocities met out to innocent families.

Nice of you to call them ****s for it though.

They are ****s and they are infantilised. People continue to assume they want the same things as you and me. Some do- most based on any serious data on the topic don’t. Stop being so desperate to kill Jews and use the vast gifted resources to build something useful for the people, overseen by the perennially useless UN and biggest charities in the world and they might finally get somewhere.

suppose I just see things from a simple point of view, would I want to live in a war zone, the answer to that is no. Life is short, why waste any more days, months, years or decade in this shhitehole.

The same reason people move in the UK, to a better location, a home is what you make it. That's if you can do so in peace and without persercution from anyone. Like all refugee status' with the options of returning in the future.

Get the place rebuilt, let Israeli's have first dibs....lol...soz only joking there.

Get it rebuilt then mum and kids can return home if they so chose, as for your one chap, well men do tend to be a bit stubborn, but women are generally more level headed when it comes to the well-being of their children. Children that need education and to be able to play with their friends, something that cannot truly be done in a pile of rubble, even though the kids might have a great time, playing with the rocks....all piskies at heart.

You’re free to do your own research. Polls in the aftermath and months after October 7th showed widespread support for the attack. Only after nearly a year once they’d been put in their place did that become a minority, albeit widespread, opinion. In the West Bank it remained a popular decision last time I saw. They ****ing love it which is why it’ll happen again probably in Duggie’s lifetime let alone ours.

    Oh, that old chestnut.

So the majority of Palestinians want to kill Israeli's and are ****s and deserved to have their homes and families obliterated

Due to some serious studies that you can't even give a source for

    I hear you.

And in an ideal world, displaced Palestinians would be temporarily housed elsewhere whilst Gaza is rebuilt.

But they are right to distrust those who would remove them, for fear of never being allowed to return.

It's probably best expressed by Palestinians themselves, rather than me :

“The days of displacement were the hardest and most exhausting,” Rifaat says. “We cannot imagine continuing our lives as displaced people away from our homes.”

“Anyone who sees these crowds understands well that no plans for forced displacement will succeed, no matter what happens,” he adds, before suggesting that he may even be able to return to Ashdod – a city just north of Gaza but now in Israel – from which his family were forcibly displaced in 1948 during what Palestinians call the Nakba

    __________

Sami al-Dabbagh, a 39-year-old heading back to Sheikh Radwan in northern Gaza, explains that he was displaced to several different areas before settling in central Gaza. The father-of-four, having walked on foot for hours, says he will never make the same mistake again.

“We will never repeat the experience of displacement, no matter what happens,” al-Dabbagh says.

It’s a sentiment shared by another man travelling up to northern Gaza, Radwan al-Ajoul.

“Displacement has taught us never to leave our homes again,” he says, as he carries his belongings on his shoulder.

I can. It was a simple enough google as it’s not like I saved the links at the time.

But yeah pretty much. Slightly crass way of putting it but there’s a whole lot of people undeserving of sympathy let alone being held up as some sort of beacon of virtue for a load of goons in Europe to coo over.

Didn’t get a lot of sleep last night which may impact my view slightly. Fosse will be along soon to balance it out with his donation to Amnesty anyway.

You say they are right to distrust, who said they distrust, I've not heard that. Don't think I've even heard what they think of Trumps idea. Some might agree to move, they might think they want a better life for their family, certainly in the short term, rather than another war...why not give them the option, rather than dismiss it because it was Trumps idea. As for the countries that refuse to take refugee's in, well buy them a boat as that normally gives them an automatic right of access in the UK <laugh>

It's not just Trump. Netanyahu wanted Egypt to take Palestinians out of Gaza, and several members of his coalition are always actively pushing for Palestinians to be removed from Gaza. The destruction there has just given them a smokescreen to try and push this agenda on the basis of 'humanitarian' need, when they've been bombing the **** out of them for the last year and a half.... so we didn't see a lot of support for their humanitarian needs then lol.

I'm sure there are some Palestinians who'd leave for good if they could for a better life. But the overall sentiment seems to be that people are happy to return to their homes, even if it's just rubble right now, as it's their home. And they know, having seen their grandparents generation forcibly removed from Palestine, that if they were to leave, they would never be allowed back.

Egypt should probably be helping out with the repairs rather than taking people in. They more than played their part in what it’s become.

'He is delusional': Palestinians in Gaza react to Trump's 'clean out' plan

“President Trump is delusional to think that the people of Gaza can leave, even if it is a mess as he described,” Noman said.

“He now cares about the people in Gaza and thinks about our future? Where was he when we were being killed by Israeli missiles funded by American taxes?”

“This is our homeland,” he said. “Neither I, my children, nor my grandchildren will ever leave it.”

I can't see any mum with kids wanting to return to a pile of rubble, that's just man talk. I think you are allowing your bias in this to cloud commonsense, especially if refugee status gives them the right to return once rebuilt. As for who's idea, Trump or Netty, you like neither, so it's semantics.

The house itself was a damaged, hollowed-out shell. But after 15 months of brutal war, it stood.

At the sight of it Monday, Ne’man; his wife, Majida; and three of their six daughters dropped the bags they had been lugging since dawn, fell to their knees and prayed, whispering, “Praise be to God, praise be to God.”

“Our joy is unmatched by any other, not the joy of success, of a marriage or of a birth,” Majida said. “This is a joy that can’t be described in words, in writing or in any expression.”

Biden was president, not Trump at the time.

This goes right to the heart of why they are right to distrust any plans to remove them

Israel’s refusal to grant Palestinian refugees right to return has fuelled seven decades of suffering
    • Nakba Day on 15 May marks the displacement of more than 700,000 Palestinians following the creation of the State of Israel in 1948
    • More than 70 years later, Israel still denies Palestinian refugees their right to return to their land
Israel’s failure to respect the right to return for Palestinians who were forced to flee their homes in 1948 is a flagrant violation of international law that has fuelled decades of suffering on a mass scale for Palestinian refugees across the region, said Amnesty International, marking 71 years since the Nakba (catastrophe), as it is known to Palestinians.

True, part of the same well oiled war machine though. Trump has just lifted a ban on weapons to Israel that Biden put on hold.

Anyway, the above outlines what Palestinians think of Trump's plan to remove them from Gaza.
