You say they are right to distrust, who said they distrust, I've not heard that. Don't think I've even heard what they think of Trumps idea. Some might agree to move, they might think they want a better life for their family, certainly in the short term, rather than another war...why not give them the option, rather than dismiss it because it was Trumps idea. It's not just Trump. Netanyahu wanted Egypt to take Palestinians out of Gaza, and several members of his coalition are always actively pushing for Palestinians to be removed from Gaza. The destruction there has just given them a smokescreen to try and push this agenda on the basis of 'humanitarian' need, when they've been bombing the **** out of them for the last year and a half.... so we didn't see a lot of support for their humanitarian needs then lol. I'm sure there are some Palestinians who'd leave for good if they could for a better life. But the overall sentiment seems to be that people are happy to return to their homes, even if it's just rubble right now, as it's their home. And they know, having seen their grandparents generation forcibly removed from Palestine, that if they were to leave, they would never be allowed back.
