One trophy in 24 seasons under him? He's alright making money for you, but to gather trophies is another matter.
As you can see from my avatar, I know what is coming up. We have 3000 coming over, I still think we'll be lucky to get a point but on your run who knows.
Think that up to 2019 he massively improved us on the pitch. We had 5 yrs of CL football and 8 yrs EL football in the previous 14 years. We made 4 league cup finals and a CL final in those 14 years. And we saw good football. Then he sacked Pochettino and the last 6 years (bar a few months under Conte and some of the Anges time) the football has been turgid. I get not winning trophies to some degree and don't particularly mind that (though it would be nice to win one again) but I object to ****e football...especially as I can barely afford going to premier league games cos of the cost. Only made 3 league games this season (all category b cos the cheapest cat a games start at £71!!!) so can only go to the cup games as they are £30-40 ... been going since 1980-81 but am being priced out like so many others
If you come with a plan and aim to hit us on the break while defending deep you have every chance. We have good players but they are knackered and bereft of confidence...am going with one of my daughters!
We were unlucky in Alkmaar to lose by the odd goal. I went out to Istanbul for Galatasaray, we were 3-0 down at half-time but in the second half we came back to 3-2 and eventually lost 4-3. A strange game as the turks took their foot off the gas and should have done us by more. Bilbao, less said as men against boys. This is our first season in European football, not including qualifying stages, we're a small club and this tournament is massive for us, it's all about money and bringing in players for the league, which we last won in 2012. The permutations are heavily for us to get through even if we lose. There are loads drinking in Islington tomorrow night. You lot should still win, we're mid table championship at best. Heja di gule!
A pic of the attendance last night, taken from the back of the CE. Supports the comment of @ElfsborgAddick that there was only 8,000 inside the Valley.
The East Stand supposedly had a lot of youngsters there suggesting a release of tickets to schools. Everitt says that statiscally a midweek game loses 25% of season ticket holders so that could mean 2000 at least were missing last night. At times you could almost count the fans in the East and West then go from there. 15k at the Wrexham game were not interested in going last night
The Valley looked pretty empty, 8000 max probably about right. The fact that you can watch on Sky doesn't help, I hope it's worth it financially. The ticket prices are putting a good number of fans off, I'd like to know how many.
Spot on , £30 plus a £1.50 book on line fee to avoid queueing is an absolute piss take in the third tier. The alternative is to take a chance on the weather & sit right at the front.
Some of my Elfsborg mates went to the game last night. An OAP ticket in the West Lower was £25, f*** that.
I remember paying £10 + £5 concession for midweek games when we were in the Premiership. Even if you double that to allow for inflation it's still cheaper than what you pay now for a 3rd division game.
In defence of Charlton when we played against Wrexham I thought I’d avoid the circus I’d check out games in either Colchester or Bromley. No cheaper there either
