What a load of bollocks. No surprise to see CAST involved. It’s hideous. Did Paul Elliott design it ?
What does this achieve? What is the point? A total waste of money. Oh yes, Elliott must have been behind this.
Everyone has always been welcome. It’s just that you have to be able to pay £30 for a ticket. This is embarrassing, box ticking bollocks. So typical of both the gaslighting SMT, and wet CAST.
Is that going to replace the old badge completely? As in on the shirts, all CAFC websites & merch... Or is it just being used on that sign (and maybe others) around the Valley. I notice in the background they haven't changed the bigger one. If it's the latter I'm not overly bothered. It's neither here nor there in the scheme of things. But if CAFC is changing all logos to that one, I think fans should have been consulted first. I'll reserve any further thoughts until my question is answered.
The comments from fan’s on CAST’s own Twitter page say it all. Has there ever been a “fan’s organisation “ that is so unrepresentative of actual fans ? As one has asked CAST (they won’t get a reply) - who did you consult over this ?
It's been a few days now since the new diversity logo went up at the Valley. It does appear to be a one-off thing rather than part of a bigger re-branding, unless anybody has heard different. If that is the case then it doesn't bother me unduly. It sends a message that I think most fans agree with, and which some might argue goes without saying. And presumably it did not cost a vast sum of money. Do other football Clubs have similar signs on this theme at their grounds? I never go to away games but I know some here do. I wonder what they might have seen.
Everyone has always been welcome at Charlton. It’s just that you have to be in possession of 30 English pounds to be able to watch the team at the Valley, which is a problem for a significant section of the community. #ToughShit
I know I'm wandering off-topic, but does the Club still do 'Football for a Fiver' or 'Kids for a quid'?
No. The only initiative this season has been “Prawns for Paul”, which increased the match day attendance by 1.
Have not seen anything like this on my travels tbh. The sign is a total waste of money imo and I cannot see what it achieves. However, selhurst park has a gays only section behind both goals.
It's a great pity. It was an excellent scheme. As were the cheap prices for midweek games deemed to be unattractive, even in the Premiership. That's how I could afford to go with Junior to about 10 games a season.
