Incredibly he had a decent lower league career after leaving us. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Andy Brown, a Scottish forward we had under Dolan. I seem to remember his best game for us was when he had to go in goal after our keeper was injured/sent off.
Recall it well.. Ref, whose name escapes me, might be Gallagher, didn't even talk to their player who was a massive unit...
Darryl Duffy and Ian McParland arrived on decent money at the time from memory. Neither did amazingly well here. Already mentioned but Jozy Altidore arrived with a great deal of expectation too, especially for those who played Football Manager at the time where the season before he was in the game as a wonder kid. Just never worked for him
Thought he scored the only goal in the FA Cup replay v Runcorn, played at Witton Albion? Was there that night, the coldest night in living memory, freezing fog, open terrace, and the ground was in the middle of nowhere.
Indeed, Linton Brown and Hargreaves in a 2-0 win, a very rare D*Lan cup win. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I remember a midfielder around 90-92, I cannot remember his name. I just recall the stadium wide groans whenever someone passed him the ball. Always went straight back to the opposition. Finnegan comes to mind, but I don't think it was him, but it was around that time.
Hargreaves always looked a decent player just couldn't get that 1st goal, hit the woodwork plenty of times. Just seemed to be one of those players that it just wasn't going to work for. Did well after leaving City and had a good career. His book 'where's your caravan' is also a pretty good read
I seem to recall Hargreaves was used as a winger quite a bit when he did play, although was initially bought as the striker.
Matt Edeson....City's youngest ever larker at 16 years and 60 days, assuming the record still stands...Played 5 games then left the scene. Not bad at walking football, though.
