Disagree with this, why isn’t Patterson telling 09 to leave it for him and i seen with my own eyes that Patterson had time to come and claim that 2nd ball.
As a CB you are judged on instant moments. Luke went AWOL first half allowing hardie an easy header from few yards out, fortunately Hardie missed. At the end whenever Patto and Luke never talked, it was an easy take for Patto but instead Luke weak header into danger and Plymouth score. 2 big moments in the match.
I see that many comments say that RLB will have seen that trying to defend a 1 goal lead for the last 15 - 20 minutes by bringing strikers off and putting defenders on did not work against Plymouth. They say he will have learned from that game. The thing is, it’s been happening for quite a few games and he obviously hasn’t ‘learned’ from them so why will he learn from one more game where we’ve conceded late on by trying to manage a game by defending. We will see in the next few games if he has ‘learned’ about going all defensive but I wouldn’t be surprised if nothing changes and we see more of Hjelde in the last 15 minutes when we sit back.
Me anarl, posted it on here Didn't like hearing the booing. Very disappointing result, but that's football. Just because Burnley beat them by 5 means nothing. They could of played their best that day and us at our worst. What matters now is how we respond. For me personally though, where this team are in the league, doesn't warrant booing. I could hear it on the stream and it put more of a dampener on it imo.
The lads must’ve been given a few days off after that. Mepham is currently in Morocco A break might do them good. Back to training later in the week, fully focused on 3 points at Boro
was just about to do this! AA and Wilson are in Paris too k think it’s good he’s given them time to relax and reflect
I didn't see what you say you saw, and have watched the 90 again, and find no fault with Patterson. O9, as Danny pointed out, should have cleared sideways as opposed to the middle of the edge of the box. My frustration was Amed (?) replacing Neil as the deep lying midfield. He wasn't as good or as fast as Neil in that position. The map of Neil and Jobe forward passing to Isidor was poor as well. Some have cried out for Neil to be pushed forward. But, from Saturday game it didn't work, maybe due to the slower game we seemed to play with Amed in the hole. Dropping Mayenda for Roberts also lost us attacking momentum as did resting Rigg.. saying all that, we need to rotate our squad, and Plymouth at home was probably the better option before we go full strength against Boro.
Well if he can’t learn what some of the supporters want him to do we'll just sack him … … pointless him staying if he won’t make the changes we're asking for. It might look a bit harsh, with him only four points off top, but that’s life.
I was stood right behind the goal, Patterson had the time to come out and claim the ball, the ball had time to bounce and he was stood glued to his line, everyone around me said exactly the same thing, get off your line and get the ball. I’ve seen the replay and I’m still of the same opinion, the lad just remains glued to his line constantly when the ball comes into the box. Only time I’ve seen him move off his line was against Sheff Utd when he actually commanded his 6 yard box Patterson should have also should have also shouted to 09 that he had no one behind him and to leave it. Although Patterson is not solely to blame he could’ve prevented it as could have O9, Hume, mepham etc he’s a very very good shot stopper but that’s it.
Thread from RTG just now, Le Bris .... 'Does anyone else think there may have been other certain people making decisions for him on Saturday?' So when we're winning, and top of the league, he's making all the decisions ... ... then starts allowing Dodds & Proctor to take over
We’ve also held onto games by going defensive. Missed chances are as much to blame for late pressure as his approach. We regularly have chances to put the game out of sight.
I disagree. I did say it didn’t look right at half time and that I thought he’d got it wrong first half. Right up to them scoring it looked wrong. Imo of course. It looked right until we got to 2-1 from there but then every decision he made was wrong imo
I'm the same, said it felt wrong after ten minutes ... ... but whatever he did we were winning the game at that point. The decisions he made, at 2-1, may have been right ... I believe the players got it wrong.
Completely agree the players on the field should have defended those balls into the box better. What I'm saying anyway is that they were given the opportunity to effectively cock it up when if we hadn't gone so defensive the ball may never have been relentlessly pumped into our box. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and who knows if we hadn't changed shape they may also have equalised. Nobody knows. I think fans are getting peeved at the amount of times we have lost points in injury time this season and the fact that we don't seem to have learnt from it. Anyway for me I'm still delighted at how the season has gone we are in with a shot at automatics and look shoe ins for the playoffs minimum. So job done for me up to this point anyway. I also don't think anyone shoukd be immune from criticism and I believe saturday was just once to many to lose points at the death therefore the criticism in this instance is probably justified. I will give praise when it's justified but also a bit of criticism when it's justified. Just my opinion like.
That’s it for me. The game plan produces more than enough chances to win a game. It’s our finishing costing
Whilst having a critique or 2 about the last game I think some of the comments are a bit over the top in respects of what this side are managing to achieve this season. On a whole we have never been dominated in any game and tactically been very astute in most. The manager/HC has been very good In set up execution of his plans. Has there been some wrong decisions, undoubtedly! Has there been some mistakes? Yes! Have I enjoyed watching the team? Yes! As a club we are moving in the right direction and playing at times some great football. The players are learning and progressing week by week and it is great watching them. Every statement from RLB is about how they are learning as a group and I think a lot of fans understand this but some still want instant gratification. As results have come in we are probably slightly better off than we were last week but I guess that is not enough for most.
