Tell ya what mind, I was booing at the bridge hotel prices. Guinness was fine but got a large rose wine for someone and it was £9.50!
My point was that people are entitled to respond and give their opinion on the booing and those who booed. It’s an important subject and the only thing we have control over and are judged on … yesterday mase us look absolutely terrible imo I know some think they know best about signings, tactics, line ups and substitutes but we don’t have any control over that … … we can only support the team, nothing else, and we let ourselves down yesterday.
seems to be the RLB way but we really do not have the players or the knowledge to be effective...no disrespect to argyle but teams are bottom for a reason and unfortunately we need to take full advantage, we need to be a much better team in the last 10 minutes or so.
Yes, a lot of us thought we had a chance after the season started, myself included. Before a ball was kicked it was top 6 max. We didn’t expect to be competing with Sheff United and Burnley pre season. Kudos to you if you did. But nobody on here was shouting that.
Frustrating result and performance no doubt but the lads have been so good this season I think they deserve a little reprieve when they hit a bump.
It isnt as binary as that for me. Putting a big defender on is accepting you are going to allow them to keep going with that tactic. As a coach you have an alternative, which is to stop them using that tactic by keeping the ball.
I didn't mind Isidor coming off but for me I'd of liked a CM to come on or a player like Adil. Get players who can not only keep the ball but can draw fouls/get you up the pitch
Listening to the SAFC commentary yesterday, Danny Collins said roughly the same thing. Take Isidor off and put Aleksic on to strengthen the midfield
He has form for this and whilst its going to work 'most' of the time, it invites too much pressure, its keystone cop defending and pub league game management. The irony of it yesterday is that whilst it can work ,it hasnt worked at arguably the worst time considering the context of the game and the weekend. It's even worse considering the calibre of the opponent. He gambled with Samed and was afforded a bail out by changing and getting to 2-1, he then reverted to form when we should be getting hold of the game, not going defensive. We do it repeatedly and from 80 mins plus in numerous games every ball into the box is serious danger.
I agree with that but, tbf, RLB has used the same tactic before and it's worked. He keeps saying he and the players are learning on the job, mistakes are bound to happen ... ... especially when you have two key players making their home debuts. Many were screaming for Samed and got their wish yesterday, I've no doubt we'll play better at Boro.
