I was thinking it was quiet this morning but put it down to the weather. Trained at a mostly student ‘The Gym’ when working up north the other day and it was insane. App said there were 133 people in there and it wasn’t massive. Lots of fanny about.
Balance innit. I wouldn’t say it was awash with gym bunnies and bodybuilders. Just normal young people mainly. Good habit to have and it’s cheap which is probably a factor.
Most of these people are afraid of the bench and squat racks so I normally find I can get the core parts of my workout done, but there's always that guy that does his entire body on the cable machine.
Sounds like you’re intimidated and/or fancy him. Just ask to work in. Half the time they decide to **** off.
I just use an alternative exercise.... he probably thinks I do fancy him because I keep looking over at him lol
... just ask him if he'd like some 'bum fun' ... you win either way ... he'll either disappear for a couple of months... or...
Joining my mate’s 6-a-side team from Monday. Not played any sort of competitive football since I did my knee so 10 years or so. Can’t see it going well and I think I’m one of the younger ones in the group. Probably end up lamping some cocky Gen Z and ****ing off before half-time.
Btw just in case you all start thinking you're in good shape the gyms are deliberately fooling you with angled mirrors and lighting just to make you think you're big.. You're probably not
Will do a walk of about 10 miles today before ruin it all with a couple of pints. That's a warm up for @Gessa and he can probably drink me under the table.
No mate,my session days are long gone, 6 pints now and I'm done. Got a tough walk planned for Thursday, up in the Snowdon range, my lad as decided his career path is to be a mountain leader, so got to get some tough walks in for him before he can start the course, he's done quite a few already but the dickhead didn't log them.
