It's not just 'spotting' though, is it? He has to do the actual deals too, convince them to sign and all that. Anyone here could spot Messi as a talent, but nobody could sign him.
They can rile you up, I mean, fair enough if he had a point and went about it in such a way to spark a serious debate, but a clear attempt to slag off our team as soon as we lose is just petty.
You may have noticed that I have only deleted one post, however you are on a Liverpool board and we are up for a debate but don't go laying into the team or manager without thought.
I know mate. If you take the refs **** performance out of it were you happy with your performance today ? I'm only asking as I only watched the first half where it was a pretty even game. Suarez is class, ( he would be better if he didn't keep going down ) but I think it's obvious he needs a goal poacher up there with him.
Two posts were removed mate and actually thought was made but you don't like the truth so maybe you should stop wearing rose tinted specs.
I did have a point and how can it spark a serious debate if as a set a fans you just call someone a "wum" if they state the truth? If you're actually a football fan and want serious debate then prove it by answering these two questions. Do you believe Charlie Adam, Jordan henderson, stuart downing and andy carroll were good buys, for good fees? and do you believe they fit into your system?
And just one final thing, Blackburn have scored more goals then Liverpool so does that not tell you your attacking system doesn't work, now that isn't a wum but a fact so as you're football fans that only want real discussion then maybe you would like to discuss why your attacking system isn't working.
Your timing is not great and you started by having a go at our manager in the first post, so you can only expect this reaction.
I'm not happy with the performance, why? Simple: "You must believe you are the best and then make sure that you are." (Bill Shankly) We certainly believed we were the better team, but we never made sure we were.
yeah Downing what a waste of money ..he had a whole 10 mins to prove himself when we were down to 10 men and all he could do was nearly win the game with a terrific shot that produced a brilliant save to turn it onto the post..really dont know why we signed him. henderson too hitting the post and generally playing well is just not good enough.
To be fair, Andy Carroll should've put away two. You need a striker who's going to get 20 goals a season, a player like Cheatarito would be class at Liverpool.
Another mod must have removed the 2nd. However you have turned up on our board for the first time as far as I know and laid into us, what do you expect?
Yes, we agree with this. Our finishing has been poor. That's the reason it isn't working (well, I suppose it is working, but we just aren't getting the final product)
You know what, It wasn't having a go, i'm a football fan, not just a spurs fan so i like to discuss all teams and before the season started I knew Liverpool would suffer problems for two reasons: A) Dalglish is a liverpool legend but imo an outdated manager B) You signed too many average players for big fees Now that I see my views actually happening then isn't it fair to discuss this, on a football forum, with liverpool fans, without being called a wum?
Not as soon as we lose a game. If you feel those points were valid then you could have added a thread at any time.
Strongly agree on this. The 'I knew all along' line which only ever turns up after something has happened. But no, let's dismiss our 8 game unbeaten run in the league. We lost tonight, so Dalglish is a poor manager.
I think each buy was understandable, Andy Carroll was a sort of panic buy. Charlie Adam was actually a good deal, Jordan Henderson is coming along good, Stewart Downing has been poor recently, but his performances when he first joined showed his potential so not too worried. You missed out Jose Enrique, who was a brilliant buy, Luis Suarez who has been sensational, and Craig Bellamy who has done his bit. We can sit here for days and discuss the transfer fees but the truth of the matter is it never came out of our pockets so why complain? Its not like we have Champions League football that we lure exceptionally better players for similar fees. I can't think of too many players who would have joined us given our situation. KK wanted to build a core for the team to work around, the core of the team is doing well at the moment, the defense is fairly stable (Bar the defensive error from Johnson today), the midfield looks strong once we have our players back, a few problems here and there but the core itself is coming along nicely.
Lil_Jatt I won't attack your assessments of your signings as its pretty clear I deem them average (the four I mentioned) and yes you made two very good signings and one great signing so not all bad, and if my post wasn't removed earlier then i would have said "as my earlier post pointed out"..when I said you had the makings of a good team. The reasons fees are mentioned is that it sends out the wrong message, paying huge fees for average players, plus it puts pressure on players (even if they won't admit it) so unless these players hit the ground running then usually they end up expensive flops.
Fair point, everyone is entitled to there own opinion. My point is that we can't attract players like Gervinho, Sanchez or Aguero because we don't have CL football which is like a minimum requirement for most footballers these days, and players who are at clubs who have proved effective may cost over the odds but somethings have to be done, we rather spend the money than never try at all.
