Michael Bridge from sky has said Spurs are in for a forward but he understands Brobbey is not that forward.
I’d say the lack of rumours at this stage of the window are likely down to us just not being very active. Enquiring about Brobbey, then dropping interest almost immediately, doesn’t fill me with much confidence we have much of a plan.
Not a massive loss if we really were in for Brobbey. No point just signing players for the sake of it and letting other teams fleece us. Ange keeps coming out and confirming that work is going on behind the scenes. People need to not give so much credence to these so called ‘in the knows’. If there’s anyone coming in then wait till you see them holding a shirt at the training ground.
I want to have intimate relations with Stoya. I'm not doing anything positive to make it happen...a bit like Daniel and silverware.
Romano's wording had Brobbey as "one of the options" It does look like we're trying to get a loan without an obligation, though - and that's what sunk Kolo Muani as PSG hit their loan limit
Brobbey will be another underwhelming signing who further cements Spurs as a mid table-bottom half side.
really valuable insight there from Michael. I’m gonna guess Delap or Ferguson, as other reports suggest.
Postecoglou: We're sort of playing with fire by not bringing anyone in. But the club is trying to change that situation. Playing with fire is all we seem to do… and it often ends how you’d expect playing with fire would end.
Delap wouldn’t be cheap and where does he fit in once Solanke is fit again? Evan Ferguson would be another underwhelming signing, his form has completely gone and his goal scoring record is terrible.
Delap I can see us going for. We’re not against paying lots of money for British players. - see Solanke and Johnson. As for where he fits in when Solanke is fit, it’s also quite common that our transfers don’t make a lot of sense. Look at us already… 5 goal keepers, but absolutely no options in defence, tonnes of wingers…. If anything, it’s a hallmark Tottenham signing!
Delap only joined Ipswich in the summer and for £20m too. Highly, highly doubt they’d let him leave after just 6 months. You’d have to pay about £50m now too and based on the fact we’ve been seemingly targeting barrel-scraping, loan only signings like Kolo Muani and Brobbey, it just seems like a deal that’s never gonna happen in January.
