For me Roberts has one of the best first touches I have ever seen. His end product is what he needs to improve. His ball control and ability to beat a man is excellent but final pass or shot needs a bit of work. But think he is only about 26 or 27 which in footballing terms is not old but in Sunderlands team is ancient.
Absolutely buzzing for the match later (will kick off at 11pm where I am) am having a few pints now then a few cans when match starts (is closest I can get to being there) think this may well be a pivotal point of the season. Even though the season has a long way to go we have, in general been very consistent and even in a wobnle did not lose many. I just get the feeling that there is something special around the corner be that this season or next. We are a well run club with good recruitment, a young but savvy owner, a big fan base and a young exciting team. What's not to like about that!!
It's clear we won’t win as many next season, in the PL, so we need to enjoy the journey as much as the arrival. I intend to make the most of this season … … no pessimism, no worrying about rebuilding for next season and no thoughts of Plymouth parking the bus. Ttey flew up so we've no need to worry Ha’way the Lads!!!
15.00 on a Saturday are rare these days. So will be out around 12.00. Somewhere decent for bait and sink a few Guinness before KO.
Woke up excited for the game, trust RLB to have them fired up and ready to go from the off. Really looking forward to seeing Le Fee in the flesh, hopefully close up as he runs to the east stand corner after smashing one in from 25 yards Haway the lads
First order of business today lads, massive Wilson song. Forst home game since the incident and time to remind him he’s adored, and we all **** up. Woke up incredibly serene today. Can’t wait for the game. Just have a lovely feeling that United have ran out of fortune. They could easily have lost at Swansea as well not yet a week ago. It’s gonna be a wild ride to seasons end but today should be a nice one. We may not score early as teams that have been smashed tend to set up deep early. Let’s stick with the lads if that’s how it plays out.
Weather is spot on today, perfect for football so no excuses for it being a leveller. We have to hit these hard and early otherwise it could easily be one of those we struggle with. Absolutely huge must win game and hoping we have the atmosphere to push on the team!
Not perfect mind just been out with dog and the gusts are hefty, not nearly as bad as yesterday though and I agree conditions are good enough to no effect our play.
Generally they’re fired up and ready to go from 15 minutes in sadly, but either way I share your sentiment
Aye if weather apps are accurate looks decent by 2. Still says 15-20mph gusts throughout but we can play through that.
It’ll be tight after Plymouth getting mullered midweek so a dominant display against a parked bus and a 2-0 win. Early goal to settle the nerves.
An early goal would be delightful. Wonder what the crowd expectation is with the point of January, non season ticket sales folk, many are absolutely skint at this stage. Be great to see over 40k for this one, it’s became a massive landmark weekend after last night. I’ve subbed 2 pals ticket money so I know folk wanna go
I am thousands of miles away nut still get the feeling that the fans will be important today. Probably more than in more recent games. The players need to know we are there and behind them( or even alongside them) we ate the twelfth man and should show it today.
