Club have denied Tom isn't going anywhere - well till after the weekend. We'll see but another poor performance or result and he'll probably be gone.
Watford FC confirms Tom will be in charge for the match at Coventry City and that the speculation over his position is just that - pure speculation.
Yea not in great form but then that is why we need new players to boost the squad if possible and if we don’t have the money then no point in paying off another manager and getting some relative unknown.
It took a long time yesterday for the club to make a statement, so I wonder if they were taken by surprise at the support for Tom? There has never been much of a reaction in the past, but this was very different. Also fans saying they will boycott games will have had the club thinking this could be expensive.
Apparently 97% of supporters want to keep TC..... and TD and others in the media have spoken quite strongly about this..... Just like Pearson appears to have fallen out with Pozzo... TC is said to have a major bust up with him recently.........
One thing is for certain, we will struggle to keep hold of Tom (should he keep his job) other clubs will be circling and offers will come in as I feel he has more than proved himself to be a decent Championship Manager, and if it is true he is not being backed in the transfer market with players that it is 100% obvious we need, notwithstanding the injury list we now have, then he isn't going to stick around if a comparable offer comes in I said to my son after Tuesdays non-performance that it is sometimes hard to support Watford, especially given the time/distance it takes us to get to Vicarage Road, but the way our owner conducts himself leaves me often feeling embarrassed!! BTW, in my mind, the non-transfer activity is the owners' prerogative, but if he isn't going to buy anyone, just come out and say it. I personally, would rather know that what we have is what we've got and there will be no one coming in, and we have to deal with that. This is much better than the vacuum of information/communication there is and the wondering if we are going to make a go of it and push on for promotion, or just accept that we have all but secured our championship status for next season, and enjoy the good days, but know there will be a few games like Tuesday. sad times!!!
Someone has had a word haven’t they ? https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/24880976.cleverley-asks-watford-fans-different-songs-support/
I doubt it - expecting fans to sing/chant in support of a club is simply the obvious thing to do. Publicly bad mouthing some club staff and/or owners doesn't exactly motivate anyone to do better. One thing that has always puzzled me since I first started going to matches is the attitude of some fans who seemingly go to football purely to spend 90 minutes loudly abusing players in the team they claim to support - what on earth they hope to achieve I do not know. Unfortunately, in my experience, Watford have always had a number of such 'fans' - and, more unfortunately, their numbers look to be growing. On the bright side, I can only suspect that a number of wives/girlfriends are happy that their partners get rid of their frustrations at football rather than at home.
Question: Does anyone know what the current stated objective is of the Watford project? when the Pozzo's came in the consistently talked about 'the project' which was to take Watford into the Premier League and establish the club there (that was my understanding) what is it today? Does anyone know if Andrew French has posed that question recently, perhaps he could - if anyone has the means to influence his line of questioning
True . I know what you mean. Support the manager but then you see online all sorts of criticism to the team and Tom himself depending on the result. I mean it would be harsh to sack TC but do wonder what the support would be like if he wasn’t a popular ex player ..
I think that most supporters think that he has done a very good job as head coach (despite making mistakes due to his inexperience). Watford has spent the least amount of money (out of all 24 Championship clubs) on transfer expenditure both this season and also last season. The team is weaker than last year and was tipped by many to be in a relegation battle, but it has been around the play-off places for most of the season and - despite the recent run of poor results - is still within one point of the play-offs.
Watford have exercised their recall option in the player's loan deal to bring back Michael Adu-Poku from Solihull Moors. He was injured during the 0-1 away win at Boston Utd. on 26th December and missed the following three games in the National League. Cover for the injured Baah?
Why cant our owners pull off this kind of ****housery https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/...ews/leicester-city-chairman-wipes-out-9892613
The second time he has done it according to that report . Guess he is trying to show he still cares about the club in troubled times .
I fully agree . And there is no certainty the next manager if a Clev goes will be any better with the squad as clearly there is not going to be any investment.
I keep thinking, with all the comings and goings of players and coaches, Pozzo is acting like a devotee of car boot sales. Buy up a box of random items, and hope that somewhere near the bottom there will be a treasure that will make a lot of money. Like the seller of the box who didn't know what he is parting with, Pozzo is finding out that a job lot doesn't always pay back your investment.
