Ange has said that Solanke will be out for 6 weeks. Will this inspire us to sign an attacker? Abso-bloody-lutely-not.
Jacob Steinberg at the Grauniad has mentioned we're pursuing a loan for Evan Ferguson, so I think it's safe to assume Alejo Veliz will be off in the summer then... Meanwhile, Romano has said Wolves are looking to sign Johnny Cardoso, though if the option we have on him is active we surely have to trigger it now
They'll want him as a replacement for Lemina. If what PS has been banging on about all season is true, we actually can't afford to trigger the Cardoso option until the summer, in which case he could presumably sign for Wolves and leave us with traditional egg on our face.
There isn't even the faintest hint of a rumour from any reliable source atm. Safe to say the club's definition of 'backing the manager' is 'into a corner'.
Doubt there will be either. I’m at peace with it. I’m just gonna learn to enjoy the chaos that is supposedly a football club.
I'd venture that Levy believes that this season is a write off and Ange is likely to be so, too. If that's the case, doing **** all may actually make some degree of sense, for once. Unless we go over to a rolling 12 month contract for coaches, who are themselves recruited knowing that they will have no input into squad recruitment, buying players in advance of yet another coaching change would be senseless, costly and compound our existing squad issues. Either we recruit players for a specific coach (which we are **** at doing) or we should recruit coaches who can make sense out of having insufficient right wingers, one left back and a plethora of goalkeepers. The current nonsense of doing neither has to stop, if we are to pull out of our current demise.
If the chairman and manager think the season is a write off when the club is in 3 cups and still league places to play for (prize money) then they all need removing. I also wouldn’t say Spurs are 100% clear of relegation so there is still a huge need to get in some players.
I doubt the coach does. If Levy's not backing him, he's a stone cold certainty for the sack. As for Levy, he doesn't show any sign of caring about cup wins. Even with European qualification at stake, there's little reason to expect that he'll roll the dice and make signings, outside of finding 'a bargain' -think Lucas Moura, Kulusevski, Bergwijn. Two of whom were actively not wanted by the incumbent coach. HE should have been removed years ago. He runs the club at his own personal whim, seemingly without sanction.
Paul o keefe says we’re considering Brian Brobbery from Ajax, and have investigated through 3rd parties. investigating FC… that’s a new one! Played 29 - goals 3, assists 7 Edit: Romano saying the same.
Currently lost his spot to grandad Wout Weghorst and Championship legend Chupa Akpom. Love it, game changer.
Brobbey will be looking to join the Spam, surely? They've basically got nobody, so he'll be guaranteed starts. As for our lack of rumours, absolutely nobody had anything before Kinsky signed, so it might not mean anything.
Said it weeks ago this would be an issue with Lange's approach: it gives the impression of not doing anything, which at best looks like we're hanging Ange out to dry - at worst means we get the same tedious copy/pasted takes
