Surely commercial given as we're about half a dozen sponsorship deals behind every other club in the league. Silverstone should have sorted out training kit sponsors by now. Wonder how long before Yasir gives another interview about how PFI want us to be the biggest and the best.
Yeah it's the easiest way forward...quite why the supporters trust thinks sending letters saying the fans can't afford to pay is a good idea is beyond me... They can't expect to pay Ashley prices and have better fruits. I think they believe the club owes them a favour, but unfortunately they are just customers and the product is improving. I understand they feel it would be wrong after they've been so loyal, but there's tens of thousand people thinking i'll pay if they don't want to...either pay up or step aside. The value of their loyalty is the right to renew their season ticket at whatever the price of the product is... Nothing more..
I suspect there's already been sponsorship plans rejected by the PL..Maybe siting there collecting a claim if you follow me. There's also probably a case of not wanting to undersell on sponsorships for their contract lengths and waiting a little longer for higher amounts over the same period.
And perhaps waiting on the outcome of Man City's case to assess where the true boundaries really are (and what can/can't be flexed) before pushing ahead with some proposed deals?
Surely we can get short term ones in - literally you could get Sam Fender to put a bit of money in for the training kit for the second half of the season and then leave a brown paper bag in his dressing room at the SJP shows in the summer... some creative accounting shouldn't be to difficult to come up with.
Yes this is one of the possibilities for sure. I made the mistake of going on YouTube and twitter and it was littered with fans moaning about everything and taking pops at the ownership. I mean Jesus Christ open your minds to the endless list of possibilities and look how well things have been going.
This is the thing everyone is always jumping about saying 'surely they can just do this' or 'surely they can just sign someone' There's no 'just' that should ever be done if there's a better option in the long run and that's something I'm sure is the case on all matters...we just aren't and shouldn't expect to be in the know. What happens is some fans manage to get so fixated on the here and now that they cannot and in many cases will not open their minds to the old tortoise and the hare. educational. They get frustrated and that frustration leads them looking for someone to blame for their own self enduced ill thought out plight.... They begin to bite out at the hand trying to feed them.
I get what you mean but sponsorships are a bit different - if you don't have one now and are lining something up for next year you can get anything in you like for the short term. Bit like - I believe - Wimbledon for their cup final, didn't have a sponsor and found one to get some money in when they made it through to the final - literally a one game sponsor. If they are lining up the kit and don't want to worry a potential sponsor with a current sponsor get sponsorship for the training socks. Like I say a bit of creativity on the sponsorship side of things should be able to generate some additional income to make sure we don't need to sell players.
There could be many plates spinning in the background. What happens is people see no sponsorships in areas and they rule out a myriad of potential possibilities. The sponsorships for all we know were sent to the PL many many months ago and weren't accepted. In that scenario you could either roll over or see the potential back dated claim.. think APT cases being deemed unlawful for example. I would imagine there's many other possibilities.
The main thing jumping out to me on those figures is how much the turnover is for Real Madrid, Man U and Barcelona but then how much in debt each of them are. Man U at 9/24 stated s being £780,000 in debt Real Madrid as at 8/24 stated as being 1.5 Billion euros in debt Barcelona at 6/24 (?) stated as being 1.8 Billion euros. Madrid claim to have net debt however of £8 Million euros Barcelona said to have 1.2 Billion euros net debt. Don't know about Man U. Good to see psr is working both at home and abroad.
I getting a kind of tarmacy cats urine aroma which translates to the harsh passage of winter into spring.
