The new CL format is bullshit, just designed to give the big teams every chance of going to the later stages.
Yep true that. I don’t like the fact that you no longer play teams home and away. Just a list of fodder for the big teams to play against
I think it's pointless City going through, think they should just accept their fate, and concentrate on top four, at least if you can get top four it repairs the damage and you go again next season. There's about three consistent teams currently, Arsenal, Forest and Bournemouth...Newcastle were but they **** their pants as usual.
I dunno man Were seeing big teams struggle with it that usually fly through the group format. I've enjoyed it so far but the jury is still out and I'll make up my mind as it goes on
But it doesn't matter that they've struggled, still going through, they just have an extra game to get through well 2 home and away. I'm not sure how the draw works though.
Pretty certain that if they beat Bruges at home in the last game they will deffo squeak into the last 24, then if they win their play-off (they will) , guess who they get in the last 16/ yeah, the team in 1st place in the CL league. There's no bar against meeting a team from your own country in the last 16, unlike previous years.
But they added a mini play off to the group format anyways before this one. Best of the 3rd spots or whatever or was. This way is just more games therfore more revenue. I dont think helping the big clubs is anymore important that it always has been in the cl, this is pure greed this format. That's why it changed IMHO
Er, it isn't. please log in to view this image Here's the full article. ESPN basically thought we wouldn't qualify for the Top 8 in their example. I lost the plot thereafter. https://www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/41040476/champions-league-draw-how-new-format-works
I can smell a lot of fear on here. Not sure why, City are just ****ing about this season until they go again in August. Chill out guys. It’s like you all have Pep anxiety.
