<peacedove>After qualifying for the knock out stage of the champions league, we are back to business in the league against Ipswich on Saturday. Ipswich were trashed by 6: 0 on their own ground by Manchester City in their last game. We need to take this game seriously Ipswich are fighting relegation. They will probably sit back and counter attack. Arsenal away to Wolves and Manchester City at home to Chelsea while Nottingham Forest are away to Bournemouth.
    Game: Liverpool v Bournemouth
    Date: Saturday 25th January
    Venue: Anfield
    Time: 1500 hours
TV. Not going to be Televised live

TIM ROBINSON has been pencilled in to be the referee.

    Back to real football.

    Alisson
    Trent konate vvd tsimikas
    Gravenberch Macallister
    Salah Szoboszlai gakpo
    Diaz

That's my guess. Diaz at 9 in England doesn't work but ho hey.

Let's just all admit tsimiaks is probably now first choice over Robertson

Not sure about jones (3rd player out?) so bench is likely

Kelleher Bradley quansah Robertson Endo Elliott nunez chiesa morton danns.

This is a must win game with another 3 points you can start a count down now from 11. 11 more wins for the title.

I think this will be trickier than it looks. Ipswich switched to a low block against Arsenal and made life difficult for them. I still expect us to win like they did though

They got absolutley torn apart last week at home by city.

As usual it's all about making the break through.

Not sure if they will have many players back either

CONFIRMED REFEREE. Michael Salisbury is the referee for Liverpool v Ipswich

please log in to view this image

    Michael Sailsbury past controversies
Michael Sailsbury has been in the Premier League for half a decade but has hadhis fair share of controversies over the years. In April 2023, Salisbury was the VAR for a controversial match between Brighton and Tottenham. He failed to intervene when Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma was fouled by Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and was
dropped from the Premier League the following weekend.
He was also dropped earlier that season for failing to spot a collision between Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana and Wolves forward Sasa Kalajdzic which should have resulted in a penalty.
It was one of a number of VAR calls which infuriated ex-Wolves boss Gary O’Neil, with the 41-year-old also hitting out at VAR after Salisbury’s two errors in a match between Wolves and Fulham in November 2023.

he's never refereed a game for us.

his stats indicate he is not a home town ref anyway, if anyhting they suggest he has some form of unconscious bias to the away sides and gives more home side yellows and less frees to them . he had some prem exerience but another recently promoted.

    Lets see what happens

New referees to the Premier league are usually overzealous. We are watching.

His numbers don't look too bad.

It could be down to the games he gets but it seems consistent this season over prem, championship amd league 1.

More cards to the home side and less frees. The away team gets more frees and less cards. It's only marginal but you know of assume it's normally the other way around with refs.

Let's hope Salisbury is neutral and doesn't have a steak in this.

CHRIS SUTTON HAS GONE FOR COMFORTABLE HOME WIN. 3:0
    • Anfield, 15:00 GMT
Ipswich got absolutely smashed by Manchester City last time out and I have told my daughter's Ipswich-supporting teacher, Mr Fields, that if he is considering travelling up to Anfield for this game, then he really shouldn't bother.

Another of Sophia's teachers, Mr Worral, is upset that Mr Fields got a mention and he didn't - so I am putting that right here.

Mr Worral is actually a Liverpool fan, and he is going to have a much more enjoyable weekend.

It's a long way for Ipswich fans to travel to watch their team get spanked, then go all the way back to East Anglia.

This should be pretty routine for Liverpool and they will get a few goals, but because they are fighting on so many fronts I don't think they will absolutely wallop them.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-0

Jamie's prediction: I really enjoy watching Ipswich and I want them to stay up - I feel like they are giving it a good go, and they play with such confidence. I have a feeling they will come back with some grit after what City did to them and while I don't necessarily think they will win or even score, this will be close. 1-0

JONES KNOWS BESTT HAS GONE FOR COMFORTABLE HOME WIN TOO. 2:0

    Liverpool vs Ipswich, Saturday 3pm

Anyone who can make a case for Ipswich here at 20/1 with Sky Bet, I salute you.

I'm always trying to spy an angle or two to get the big underdog onside but such is the relentless nature of Liverpool and the state of Ipswich's defending against Man City it was an impossible task.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot praised Mohamed Salah following his performance in their Champions League match-up against Lille in which he scored their first
The approach from Kieran McKenna will surely be the same as their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal where they retreated into a low block and soaked up pressure. They've surprisingly done that in most of their away games this season. This does potentially open the Liverpool corner line up as a betting avenue in what is a very difficult game to find any value in.
Ipswich have conceded an average of 8.8 corners on the road this season against top-half teams whilst Liverpool have got into double figures for corners won against Southampton, Leicester, Wolves, Brentford and in the away fixture with Ipswich. Them to win nine or more at 11/10 with Sky Bet could be the answer.

    SCORE PREDICTION: 2-0

Game in danger of being postponed because of the heavy wind. I pray this is not true.

Didn't Sutton come out with some similar drivel before the Man U game, about how we'd win easily? He's just trying to jinx us.

Good job there's no such thing.
