Pretty sure the rapists got incredibly lengthy prison sentences, many of them won't see the light of day. We don't have the death penalty here in the UK, so as far as justice goes, is that not what should happen? It would be nice if their assets were stripped and given to the victims and their families, but I don't know if legally that's something that can happen.

I saw a certain MP who shall remain nameless on TV this morning saying MPs "weren't allowed to ask questions" about the perpetrator, without evidence or proof that that was the case, which if his track record is anything to go by, is probably bollocks but the fact nobody can verify that is the exact point. The PM, in a rare moment of clarity, actually got the response bang on and said that releasing too much information can jeopardise the trial and potentially lead to a miscarriage of justice which is possibly the worst end result imaginable. At the time, the murderer was under 18 and his name was only released by judges because of the sheer amount of misinformation going about.

That's the exact reason Tommy Robinson was jailed, he could have had that trial thrown out of court and the rapists would have just walked out free. This idea that the public need or are entitled to full disclosure from every department of the CPS every time there's a violent crime is mind-bogglingly naïve, almost child like in nature. It's just populist nonsense to get people frothing at the mouth in the name of mob justice, dressed up in a way that sounds like it's for the benefit of the victims.

There are people who actually confessed to it who weren’t given any jail time. Police were told to ignore it. Girls themselves were arrested for being drunk and disorderly when found in a house full of men who weren’t even questioned. The “justice” is far from complete.

It's ironic how much misinformation and how many errors there are in that post.

This whole thread is a car crash, and sailing very close to the wind for the no politics rule on this board, and as I've said, nobody will change their views as a consequence, opinions will simply become more entrenched and feuds will be generated.

I'm not saying justice is complete, not by any stretch because I don't even think they've caught them all have they? I also don't for one second think that the police are innocent in any of this and I'm speaking as somebody with several very close family members who are serving police officers (they know my feelings on the police). Something has gone badly wrong and it needs to be fixed yesterday. But springtiger said justice hasn't been done, which suggests that nothing has happened and it has.

But, that being said, there is a process which the letter of the law is clear on. If we start ignoring it because of emotional sentiment, no matter how strong, that's how loopholes and opportunities get used in favour of people who shouldn't be given the chance to use them. If we start demanding things like full disclosure at the point of reporting, it's just going to end up with mobs going to houses and conducting kangaroo courts before any legal proceedings can take place. Then how do the victims get justice?

Correct it, then. If it's wrong, I'll stand corrected. I've changed my views before in light of information, I'm more than willing to do so if you can provide evidence where what I've said is incorrect.

Although I agree on no the politics rule, it would seem as though this discussion relating to Musk is badly needed given the amount of people who seem to think he was waving at his mate Dave.

This'll cheer you up, here's a pic of some folks in Italy last year trying to flag down the world's largest taxi.

No way am I spending time on this board correcting so much misinformation.

If that's the standard of information you are using to draw your conclusions, you would seem to be stuck on information that supports your confirmation bias. It leaves a lot of room for doubt on your 'conclusions' and opinion.

Oh, and don't bother with the usual rant about not answering. I'm really not that interested in what is quite liable to reduce to childish abuse.

Is it the usual rant because you never address questions and instead just obfuscate? You've done it plenty of times already and have already played your usual mod card of "no politics" after having expressed your warped view. As someone else asked, what is the actual point of you? You don't engage in city discussion other than the same tired troll after every loss and yet you're one of two mods on here.

Isn’t this basically saying ‘I know more than you but I’m not going to tell you what?’

If you don’t post to correct things than your own information and views can’t stand up to scrutiny. So what’s the point in engaging in the discussion in the first place?

So, I'm wrong according to you, but instead of simply correcting me you're just happy to leave it that way instead of taking 2 minutes to tackle what could be a teachable moment and helping me out. Is that not a little counterintuitive?

But, it's your prerogative so I'm not going to force it. I'll just throw it out to anybody else on this board, if what I said was incorrect, please can you point out, with evidence, where I was wrong? This isn't in the name of self-aggrandisation; if I'm wrong, I don't want to repeat the same mistakes.

Heck, if people don't want political stuff, just DM me, I'm trying to come from a good place here, I'm not trying to trip anybody up.

It'd take a damn sight more than two minutes, there was more wrong than right.

Experience has shown that you don't like being put right, and simply get abusive and drone on.

Don't believe there's any childish abuse in my post so I don't think you're proving the point you think you are.

And again. It's like clockwork. Incapable of actually justifying or explaining himself. What a strange poster.
