Personally believe that the hand gesture was something taught to him by whomever he's hired to teach him public speaking to US citizens (probably who Trump uses), rather than an attempt at a nazi salute.

That's not to say he hasn't come out with some questionable views, statements and support over the years. Ever since some of his children came out as gay and transgender, he seems to have fallen into a dark world of misery.

Madness that in this day and age he's been allowed to accrue such high personal wealth and a position of power.

Sounds plausible. 'So, Elon, if you want to get their attention, try a Nazi salute. What could go wrong?'

He's spent the last few months promoting the AfD as the best option for Germany, chatting with openly Nazi X users in those X Spaces he has and reposting and sharing content from people like Nick Fuentes.

I think it's odd so many people want to give him the benefit of the doubt when he's been so openly and brazenly embracing the kind of people that even the folks working at the Daily Mail would struggle to spin positively. The "we need to save the world, climate change is a threat, I will save humanity and take us to the stars" Elon Musk is dead, he's gone. That guy died as soon as his kid came out as trans and he went into meltdown about it. There's a very good reason she cut him off and that's because people like him and his groyper buddies want people like us deleted from the genepool.

I genuinely understand the hesitancy surrounding things like this because there's a small part of everybody that doesn't want to admit the obvious. We don't want to admit that we live in a world where somebody with incredibly extremist views, or at least encourages and openly signals people that do, can be in a position of wealth and power. Watching people dance around it is just "Voldemort IS NOT BACK" levels of cringe.

But if we are going to move forward, this type of thing has to be met head on and without excuse. Call it what it is without fear and call it out unashamedly. If we don't, it'll just continue to get worse and you'll start seeing it more over here. You think there aren't people in the Reform party who aren't going to use the same strategies and sentiments we've just seen? Of course there are, that's why Musk wants them in power here.

It wasn't a Nazi salute to praise Hitler, it was a Nazi salute signalling to his wussy, ****witted Nazi pals on the Internet that he's made it. They're loving it, by the way, the white supremacists and groypers. They instantly recognised it and if you want a clear sign as to what the meaning behind that was, look at the reaction of the very people who you're saying he ISN'T appealing to.

But ultimately, the real indicator will be whether he comes out and condones Nazism. In the coming days, if he openly says "I am against white supremacy and associated extreme right wing ideology in every sense of the word", the idea that he was doing it as a genuine good faith gesture will become apparent. But he won't. Because just like when he tried to promote H-1B visas and defend their usage, those mouthbreathing freaks will go into kill squad mode and turn on him.

    The Narrative fallacy
    1. Is the narrative fallacy a fundamental aspect of human cognition and are we hard-wired to look for patterns and causes in everything around us, even when there aren’t any?
    2. What are the benefits, if any, of the narrative fallacy, and how can we leverage them?
    3. What are the drawbacks, if any, of the narrative fallacy and how can we avoid them?

Yeah? It's not a case of bpm or taking a chill pill, it's living in a world where an American government official does probably the most evil hand gesture in history and half the population deliberately look in every direction except the most obvious one and wondering at what point we collectively decided the film Idiocracy would be a decent framework for Western Society.

We're cooked. And, there's literally nothing people can do about it.

Just out of interest how many of your 66,000 posts on this site are about football ?

You pop up occasionally on the Hull City forum , the vast majority of them must be elsewhere

I can't see Musk thinking he needs anyone to teach him public speaking. I think he knew exactly what he was doing and the ructions it would cause, it's his way, stir up a bit of bother then back away.

Exactly, anybody knows what Internet trolling is will instantly have spotted this for what it is.

He's not a full blooded Fourth Reich chaser, he's doing it as a gesture to his online community.

That's what pisses me off; his defenders think that because he's taking the piss, it excuses and forgives the actual gesture. There's no reality where an acceptable defence of that sounds like "well, I did do a Nazi salute, but it's how my friends and I greet each other, I wasn't signalling for some lebensraum."

    There it is. Troll complete.

So like I said, if he comes out and distances himself from the Nazis, that clears everything up.

I don't understand the Grimes fan, like she said, she's not responsible for Musk's behaviour, why should she be saying anything?

Can't speak for DMD, but personally I try to avoid the football related discussions. Spending a whole morning backing and forthing over a difference of opinion, the descent into abuse and the final dawning realisation you are conversing with someone who is adamant the sky is green, the grass is blue, but condescendingly admits yes, coal is black.

People need to remember with Musk that he’s an incredibly awkward autistic man with loads of money and influence.

Clips of him for years show he always seems “odd” in odd situations.

He isn’t a nazi. He’s even got pelters from Trump supporters because he’s pro legal immigration.

Hell guys , so much hot air over eff all when the country sits back and watches those ‘in charge’ issue platitudes and veiled references to institutional and cultural issues that have undermined the Southport murders and the justice for the rape gang victims -
And this forum gets hung up on some attention seeking rich guy from the USA .
Come on be really brave !!
