I thought Crooks looked a yard off the pace in both cameos and he’s one of the players who hasn’t played since November. We weren’t going to attract the same calibre of players we did last January but the priority absolutely should be players who are playing consistently and match-sharp, even if they’re League One players like Joseph, rather than old men and players who haven’t played since November.
cant say crooks did out wrong but can’t say he did anything either I’m hoping he comes good but it’s a lot to ask as he’s what 60% match fit??
QPR are a good side at the moment, they forced us into areas that suited them and crowded us out. You can see they're good tactically, very well drilled. Our squad wasn't strong enough to win the game tonight. Seeing the starting lineup was quite dispiriting. It seems like under Acun whenever the transfer window is open we always end up playing games with a decimated squad. You know that a week after the window closes we'll have a decent squad but during January and August we always have such a lack of options. For the money we spend on players it's really poor. I like Vaughan, but he was starting because of a lack of options tonight and it's such an important position. I assume Jacob must still be injured because we needed him on the pitch tonight (Edit: that was terribly worded, I do know he came on. Meant not fit enough to start). That back four looked so awkward in possession, and that played a part in QPR being so successful in forcing us into difficult areas. Jones playing on the left side just couldn't find passes; McLoughlin always struggles to find the angles in tighter spaces and Drameh just always struggles in possession. In the modern game we need to have a back four and goalkeeper who can get the ball out and find passes, and that back four couldn't do it tonight.
I agree. Didn’t do anything wrong per se but in both times he’s come on he’s just been… there. Barely touched the ball.
People are so up and down on here depending on the most recent result Clearly we are in danger of relegation , that's been obvious for months
The majority of incomings should be relatively up to speed, obviously some will focus on the one that isn't but that's expected. Of course we can get out of this, but I can't help thinking it will be decided in the home games we have against teams around us. Which at the moment, is a scary proposition.
It’s august all over again isn’t it Signing players late or who are unfit and just throwing them all together thinking it’ll be fine I thought gelhardt was blowing too
I think people are being a tad over the top as usual with a loss against a team in good form. We had quite a few opportunities to make them pay and didn’t, it’s not like we were ****ing hammered or never in it.
We rarely do get hammered, but that’s all people say every home game . We nearly always do just get edged out, be nice to be the ones edging the other team out . Are people supposed to be happy turning up week after week for over a year and barely seeing a win or many goals? I just wish we could be a bit more normal and lose away and win a few at home instead .
And regarding the home form. The atmosphere has to be a big part of it. We can be loud but so often it just feels like a friendly. So quiet today, but even before the game there's no buzz, it's so low key. The club has such a low mood around it and has done for a long time. I think that goes hand in hand with how there's so much negativity on here and other social media in recent years. It's all chicken and egg and I don't know what the solution is, but the mood around the club just isn't right and it wasn't last year either.
