I'm watching the Derby feed and they were saying our bench were furious

 

That's the issue for me, who the he'll gave the decision - its not even close to offside

 

I think the referee gave handball, but did he like make a decision then change his mind? I’m so confused

 

This shows they don't have a clue what happened. Ref and lino were walking back for a kick off.

 

BBC summed it up:

"There is confusion all round as there is no VAR, there was no offside flag and there was no obvious foul.

What we do know is that it's still 1-0 for the Black Cats.

Derby stream are saying handball on ELF

Unreal. Cancelled a goal because their player was in the ref ear!!!!

 

Premier League ref? Saw handball. Waited for VAR? Remembered there wasnt any VAR. Gave handball?

 

The ref got a message through his earpiece about the goal. Surely that’s not allowed.

 

The replay they’ve shown there is even worse

Ref had an absurdly hard think there and can’t see any justification to back his decision

That's the only reason I can see. They've just shown it again on Sky + and even they can't work it out even if wasn't given but kind you say there was 1 or 2 Derby players talking to the ref while we were celebrating

 

Think this is up there with Wes Brown’s red card for worst call I’ve seen at out game
