It’s now blatantly obvious we must win this game. Trippier should be now permanently dropped from the squad, why he was brought on last time was daft enough but that he played like he’s 80 years old should be the end for him, **** this stupid loyalty and get crap players gone. Get Burn out as well. Give Odysseas a turn. And if anyone else is “fatigued”’then rest them as a sub.
I'd actually look to get some stability in and go with Tino, Schar, Botman, then possibly consider Targett. I'd sit Burn out for the foreseeable, and give Hall a breather - he's been immense and come on leaps and bounds but maybe just needs a little break. Trippier needs to be dropped entirely, preferably sold, and Howe needs to get back on early nights and muesli, that utter brainfart of Tino LB and bringing the woeful Trippier on when chasing a goal was ****ing mind-blowing. Krafth is more solid and covers two positions. Almiron couldn't even get on so sell him and Kelly ASAP this month, then just get on with and look to a bit of a rebuild in the Summer.
No, but I have heard the expression “if it looks like ****, smells like **** and plays like ****, it’s Kieron Trippier”.
Trippier is finished but the manager doesn't trust youth (maybe hes right not to). It'll be ages before Miley is getting games when it's already clear he can play.. the same applied with Livramento and Hall. They were ready long before they started games regularly, but Howe likes to create the narrative he's turned water into wine with his digital training presentations. Meanwhile Trippier and Burn played in the full back positions until the season was up in smoke and we'd lost that cup game vs chelsea. Another example was when Isak was benched in the cup final behind the preferred and already flagging Wilson. Howe's on the whole done a terrific job, but his tortoise like approach when integrating highly expensive better players into the side has arguably been costly at times. This is probably why there's no point worrying about signings this month even if the club had the money... he'd be more inclined to let them sit out the season and not upset the group.... it's his way and his right I suppose, but he's not perfect.
100% agree with all this man. Drives me absolutely nuts how Howe integrates the players, when they're obviously raring to go and just need a game or two to settle in, we have them in and out of the 11, coming off the bench, then starting next week but coming off at 60 mins, then the bench again and then starting. I could name examples of who he has done it to ... but it would include every single player we have signed. If we signed a RW this jan, I have no doubt whatsoever he would be on the bench until Murphy is actually physically injured and unable to start, this is what it takes for us to make changes, crippling injuries. Trippier should have been gone as soon as Bayern were sniffing around, we didn't pull the trigger to our own detriment. Now we are stuck with him.
Anyone considered that just maybe the player didn’t want to go. I know that’s pretty radical but it might just explain why those players on big fat contracts weren’t sold.
I think he did want to go though. His personal life is all over the shop apparently and he just wanted to be away.
Couldn't ask for a nicer fixture to have after your poor result Saturday lads. Easiest 3 points all season coming. We're considerably worse than Ipswich.
