He was shocking at Rangers, I remember my Auntie being buzzing we signed him and I told her how bad he had been up here- killed her enthusiasm
Yeah that video showing Riis' really good season in 21/22 highlights how much hes suffered from the recent injuries - hopefully as a backup we can get 75% of the player he was then and not the one they have now.
Yeah for the same price as Cannon. At least he's scored goals in 2 poor teams at this level, I'd much rather have Cannon than Frigan at those prices. You could argue Riis is the best overall option as he's done it in the same poor team as Cannon, but at a quarter of the price.
Situation is much different though, we aren't wanting to spend that type of money here and now by the looks, for what it's worth I do want Riis
He was awful at Rangers suffered a bit from his build and his laid back languid style just didn't fit in McLeish didn't like him thought he was lazy. Joke in Glasgow at the time of Alex McLeish shouting "Tore start warming up. You're coming off"
It's not really that different, we tried to do a similar deal with Frigan and Cannon. I wouldn't really pay that much for either of them, but I think people see Frigan as some sexy European unknown and Cannon as some Championship fodder. I'd rather hedge my bets on Cannon tbf. Although that is unlikely now. Imo we'll be signing a forward to play 2nd fiddle to Isidor, I'd rather pay the money touted around on a quality RW.
I use my son. He seems so well versed in so many football things! Should be a scout! Was telling me all about Le Fee 2 days before we signed him, knew loads about his background, his style and everything! Seems he doesn’t just sit on his arse and play computer games and watch porn up there (he’s 20)
Probably knows about him because of EA sports and FM so you’re probably wrong about at least part of that!
Dichio was the only player i ever saw, when attempting to control the ball, the ball would bounce off him at a greater speed than what it was when receiving.
I used to play loads of Football Manager every November\December when it came out and people will laugh because it’s just a game at the end of the day but I do think it gives you some good knowledge of footballers outside of the PL/Champ which is generally what most English fans follow - especially across Europe if you’re on the spectrum like me and spend a week scouting players just to then skip through the seasons matches as fast as possible to get to the next transfer window lol. Mentioned it before on another post I think but I always used to scout the U21/B/C teams of major clubs and sign some of their talents. Then you see them in real life getting a big move and it’s almost like proud dad moment!
It's incredibly true to life now these days too, the databases and the time the dev's put into it is next level

I would just worry that we would resort back to give the ball to Clarke and hope he can do something with it.
