How has it reached this point with Thomas? Surely we didn't just go into the transfer fir Thomas without knowing Huddersfield can't recall him and surely Huddersfield knew that before they accepted him to come here... How has those 2 things not been considered until this point? It's incompetence by both teams.
Surprised if he wasn't signed in time, everything suggested it was all lined up. Ah well, will be good to see him against the Blades.
Baz suggested on the 1904 podcast that we wouldn’t get both Louie Barry and the winger. It would be one or the other. But Barry would add to the number of loan players issue given that this left back we are looking at would also be a loan. Doesn’t seem to add up.
500k sounds about right. I didn't think we'd recoup our 700k fee. Keep in mind it's still a 'profit' in the sense that FFP works.
If only contracts in any walk of life where that simple.... Just because it can be done doesn't mean it will be done instantly, with the money involved these days all sides want to be 100% and all sides will also want the best for their interests which again drags things out. This isn't a dig at you or anyone but football fans don't ever seem to grasp or understand just how complicated and complex transfers and contracts can be.
I would guess Nantes are looking to secure a replacement for Thomas before they start playing ball with Huddersfield.
We don't, but that's because nobody explains it. The things we are told are hard to make sense of without more detail, which we don't have. And that's fine, we're not entitled to know how it works, but it just makes for a strange situation with news that we can't really comprehend.
I asked for a pay rise at work, my manager agreed it made sense, she asked for approval, and it was sorted within the week. I'm on a fraction of a footballers salary but surely the mechanics are at least reasonably similar. It can't be as difficult as some make it out.
What news can't you comprehend though, just the time taken? Look how long house sales take, sales of businesses or assets etc... a footballer moving clubs isn't much different. Some can be done very quickly ( look at our most recent signing ) but other are much more complex and difficult. Sometimes it's just down to a player wanting to take their time, sometimes it's a club holding out for more money or paying less etc. Sometimes a medical can bring to light something that needs more investigation. Sometimes it can be image rights, sometimes it could be work permits....it's a huge number of things. I just think people are so used to getting information instantly these days with how assessable things are with social media the internet etc ..that it sometimes distorts the reality of things and gives unfair expectations
Cute Point being, as PLT said, everyone condescendingly suggests we just don't understand how complex things are, and then football clubs forget to click the right button to confirm a transfer. Sometimes I think the clubs just don't have the smartest people doing things.
Starbucks IS a good employer. You could come back with that and I’d probably skulk away into a corner
