P.S. I also used to travel frequently to the US for work and I never saw anybody making that gesture. I guess those people must have all had the day off for Hitler's birthday or something.

What we haven't seen, is a VIDEO clip that shows the others performing the same gesture in full, as opposed to a brand new picture which you posted, that clearly HAS been manipulated to look like they're doing the same gesture. All while Elon unironically tweets about the dirty tricks.

Meanwhile, some people are like "Come on guys, it's totally clear what he was doing. He was obviously just suffering from heartburn before aggressively karate-chopping a fly."

 

He probably did it with exactly this fallout in mind. Knowing that lots of people will be angry/bewildered by it, that others will passionately defend him and that reputable media will tip-toe around it and not dare call it what it is. Just watched the clip and his Musso -Hitler salute looks really crass unless you young ones know if hes just trying too hard . I suspect he’s trying to ape Trumps mannerisms - badly thinking it gets people on his side - it’s like. a 10 year old gesturing badly using an action he doesn’t understand. .
