Great post and I agree with the slight exception that we appear to be more fexible than other clubs in our strategy and not afraid to learn from our mistakes.

That's not worded as well as it could be, I can't find the right words to explain it. The owner and the team have an identity, but if that identity needs adjusting to reach their goals they will do it - hopefully that makes better sense?

One thing we are doing is putting solid foundations in place based on sensible principles rather than a scattergun approach based on nothing but throwing money at it

Makes sense mate yes and I agree. When we struggled last season a lot of us wanted there to be more flexibility with the recruitment, the club did that in the summer with the likes of Browne and Meptham. I think the Le fee signing shows that when an opportunity arises that ticks all the boxes for the club, they’ll push the boat out to get it done

The beauty of what we are doing is it's a clear plan. We get promotion and Le Fee is clearly a premier league player, it's a no brainer to bring him in.

If the club want Frigan then I have to trust them that they believe he can step up as well

    Chelsea v Wolves tonight

1 win in 6 for Chelsea (Morecambe in the cup), they could do with getting back to winning ways tonight

Feel a bit sorry for him to be honest. Don’t think anyone can begrudge him moving, it seemed like a good move at the time and he’d already proven himself in the championship yet I feel like some of our fans are almost relishing in saying “ha told you so” because it’s not worked for him. He’s still head and shoulders above the wingers we have at the minute he won’t be forgotten about because of one bad season.

If he stayed here for another season and done well but we failed to get promotion it’s a meaningless season for him, he will have done what he’s already done in the 2 seasons beforehand. If he stayed and got us promoted then there’s a very good chance we’ll be exactly the same as Ipswich in the PL and get a hiding most weeks in our first season back trying to survive. Unfortunately it’s a risk you take when you make the step up but if you look at it from Delaps point of view, he won’t be sitting there regretting his decision. I hope Clarke gets some more game time in the second half of the season to show what he can do because there’s defo left wingers starting in the PL that aren’t as good as him. But when you’re playing for a club that are up against it most matches it’s always going to be difficult to shine.

Chelsea have got some brilliant younger players

Think they’ll challenge for the title in the next couple of years

They looked good at the start of the season, just shows that even expensive youngsters can be inconsistent.
    - hopefully they finish above the Saudis

Their recruitment when Todd Boehly first came in was an absolute disgrace, it’s improved a hell of a lot

Imagine if instead of buying loads of kids if they just signed a couple of experienced players who were already of a very high standard.. they’d be right up there with Liverpool. Just don’t understand what they were trying to do by essentially signing 3 good squads instead of just signing 1 world class squad and a decent bench.

    It was just complete scattergun

Nothing wrong with a bit experience but Koulibaly and Aubameyang both on huge wages wasn’t what they needed. Even the Sterling signing was a huge sum with wages included
