Also it was a really good year for QB prospects. Think any of the 6 projected highest ones last year (Williams, Daniel’s, Maye, Penix, McCarthy and Nix) would be projected as the first overall pick this year such was the strength of the class (and the weakness at QB this year). Would also be typical if McCarthy is a bust that the only reason they ended up with him and not one of the top 3 was because they beat the Raiders 3-0 or something incredibly **** in a completely meaningless game last season to **** their draft pick up
I'm still optimistic that McCarthy will be good. I just don't know if he'll become the franchise QB like Williams, Daniels or Maye will.
It’s too early to know with any of them really. Lots of examples of QBs having good rookie years and then not kicking on. He wasn’t meant to be on the players you’ve listed level anyway. Last year it was regarded as Williams being the standout then Daniel’s and Maye very similar ability wise then a big drop off to McCarthy, Penix and Nix. McCarthy was regarded as a 3rd/4th round talent even at this point last year then they won the National and his stock rose. He was very polarising from the “experts” some even said they wouldn’t draft him at all whilst others had him going as high as he ended up actually going. Anyway we shall wait and see. I still think there is a decent chance Darnold will be back, he’ll test the waters and see if anyone will give him starter job and more money, but if not then he could definitely end up staying and competing with McCarthy. The reaction to the last 2 weeks may convince the team to move on as the fanbase haven’t taken it well to put it lightly
So the Lions have choked in the play offs again! Well done to Washington as well but that must be so disappointing for the Lions fans - shame! They will likely lose at least one of their co-ordinators and possibly both as well. So the apparently really strong NFC North went 0-3 in the play offs - just shows really that records and seeding doesn't matter too much - it's what you do when the play offs start that counts.
Commanders definitely the team I want to win the Super Bowl from the NFC Think it will be the Rams representing the NFC though, whoever it is I think the Super Bowl winner will be the AFC team.
Agree with all of that. One of Chiefs/Bills/Ravens to win it for me. Those 3 teams are a long way ahead of everyone else.
I wish the Vikings drafted Verse, trading up and giving up this years draft for Turner looks incredibly **** at this moment in time
Rams are completely ****ed with this weather. Any team that plays indoors would be so Vikings would be screwed as well.
Flores didn’t get the Bears job then (not surprising after Williams comments). Interviewed for the Jags and Jets as well so hopefully he doesn’t get either of those jobs as he is the only thing that has made this tragic defence look any good
Yeah just one more. Wonder if Flores’ previous stuff with the Dolphins is going against him, he was pretty much dropped by the NFL after that
Not too sure. An offensive minded coach always made sense in Chicago because of Williams and Johnson was always the favourite there. Glenn has done miraculous things with a beat up Lions defence all year so he was always going to get a HC job. I just think there's a lot of strong candidates.
Yeah you may be right. Not like Flores was a huge success in Miami either so maybe teams are looking at that as well. Suing the NFL probably not helping his cause either
Vikings have extended KOC. Good. Has his flaws but he's still a young HC so will learn from mistakes and will improve. Really rate him.
So championship games this weekend I want Washington and the Bills but I know it's going to be Eagles and Chiefs again. And I'll consider not watching the super bowl for the first time since 2013
I see a woman has been charged with vehicular manslaughter for causing the crash that killed Khyree Jackson and two others. Very sad that it definitely now seems to be the case that he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Darnold basically said goodbye on Instagram. Means the Vikings should have a whole lot of money now in free agencyif they aren’t bringing him back at all Without knowing what they do in free agency I want them to take interior on either offensive or defensive line with their only pick of note in the draft. I’ve heard there are a lot of good O Lineman who could be in free agency so hopefully they can sign at least 2 of the better ones there then see what the roster looks like come draft time. They are going to have a lot of holes with the amount of players out of contract
