Cattermole is fine (so is Colback for that matter) both would look OK with a more attacking "centre midfielder" who does the passing, attacking bit that a central midfielder does. Say a O'hara. It's when they are together they look woeful. I have faith that MON will see what 99% of the fans see unlike SB. However for 10m. I'D SNAP THERE FOOKING HANDS OFF (even 5m)
Cattermole and Cana together worked really good together, Cana would order him round the pitch and Cattermole done a very good job. Since Cana left I think Cattermole's form as been average at best. Couple of decent games (Nothing outstanding which I know isn't his job to be) but he gives away too many fouls, misplaces simple passes (Agreed it's not as bad as Etuhu's was) and I think he puts us under more pressure than he counters.
I tend to agree with Cest, Rule and Comm on this. But in any case, I'd say all deals are off (buying, selling, and loans) until we see what MON wants to do and what he can do. If he can talk sense into Catts and reduce the cards, he'd be a very useful player.
I think everyone will have an opinion on how good he is but can ANYONE put forward a reasoned opinion on why he is not a liability to the team. His record of both yellow & red cards is unacceptable for a captain & I believe the team also. How can a player be 100% committed if after only a few minutes of a match finds himself sitting on a yellow with the majority of the match still to play. This has happened so many times in his career that surely the time has come to use him off the bench. A Captain should lead by example showing how to play. I personally don't believe O'Neil with stand for it but the change will come after a couple of games rather than his first week in the job.
Is that coming from Proud Scouse? He's the world's greatest footy pundit. If Proud Scouse says it, then Kenny is thinkin' it.
