Just another thought, other than the enforced use of Ruben as a 'false 9', we now seem to have round pegs in round holes (or is it square pegs in square holes?). People better understand their roles. There actually seems to be a game plan. Players seem to be on the same wavelength. Apart from when Omer has made defensive changes, unbalanced the side, we've looked comfortable out of possession and creative in possession. People playing with their heads up. For the first goal, some good build up, options to continue that before Tanner spotted Robinson and played a dangerous ball into the box. The team isn't the finished article, far from it, but green shoots.....
Just love this photo. It epitomises how much it meant to the players and the gaffer. Such a fantastic atmosphere yesterday. Robinson and Tanner really got the crowd going, Rinhomota was my MOM and NG will need to up his game if he wants to get back in the team. You might want to change your goal scorer Clingo! If we keep pressing teams from the kick off like we did yesterday we should be okay this season.
A nice problem to have. There are a few positions where we're getting a bit of depth in the side. Bagan was good when he came on. Ralls played a captain's role with Siopis on the bench. We have options at 10. Attacking options coming back. We could still do with prising a few out and a couple reinforcements, but things are looking a bit healthier. A couple pacy wide men on loan would be nice.
I did state “in some way” but you’re right and it begs one to think why he wasn’t playing there before as when he played for Fulham in the Premier League in that position he was apparently most effective.
Yep, clearly a group of players giving it all for the badge, the fans, each other and the gaffer. So good to see how much respect Omer has gained amongst his charges. Yep, the crowd was raucous, inspirational and intimidating in equal measure. I know derby games generate a fire of their own but it would be great to think that the fans will continue now to get right behind the boys. Twelfth man and all that. Yep, as I mentioned earlier in the thread Rinhomota was my MoM too. Also agree about NG now having a battle to get back in. To be honest it might be a useful kick up the jacksy (pun intended) for NG as I felt there was a noticeable complacency creeping into his game with no fear of being dropped. Yep, I can see myself going with Goutas for my scorer. He's been close in just about every game he's played for us and now he's got his eye in with a bullet of a header. I think there are players who can't generate that much power with their feet!
Suprised nobody has mentioned we're only 14 points off the playoffs................ Oops, I just did........
I too stated earlier I made Rhinomota my MOM. It’ll be interesting to see how many turn up next Saturday- that game is massive as we’re level (atm) with the snow queens. They’ll have a good following so the fans should hopefully turn up again in good numbers. Have a look at the trajectory of Robertson’s corner from a side on angle - the whip and pace of the ball colliding with Goutas’ bonce was total perfection.
The outswing of Robertson's corner was incredible. It swung away from the Swansea defenders and Goutas coming in met it plumb on. The way it fizzed over the jack keeper and off the bar right above his head gave him no chance such was the pace on it.
Absolutely right nin and Sparkey. The pace of the cross was perfection and the way Goutas manipulated the pace was exquisite. Just enough head to ball and neck muscles firm. A brilliant goal.
Ugbo was one. I just can't resist. Another Wendies appearance off the bench today and no goal. Sods law the twat will score against us.
Good enough for the jack bastard - I hope his part in instigating Riza's fit of rage isn't just ignored. https://www.footballinsider247.com/...-sanction-on-riza-clash-in-cardiff-v-swansea/
I think "could" is the operative word. Hackett is no more than an opinion monger with no authority. I would like to see Franco sanctioned but it is very unlikely.
I dont think he did much wrong. He was utter **** all game mind. Basically one of the ones Luke Williams says bottled it. **** himself. Him Allen and Grimes completely bullied by Ralls and Chambers.
I've got to be honest, other than the barge into Omer, I didn't really notice any individual Swansea player. I was far too focused on an inspirational performance by our boys that drove the opposition into anonymity. Seriously don't know if the jacks were good, bad or indifferent because we were so good. What I did notice is how positively our heroes reacted to the loud, raucous support of the fans. Let's hope the fans continue to attend and to be loud and proud.
