Agreed. Like I said, last season was awful, he wasn't the only one (just as you've rightly named Roberts), but a section of the fans turned on him resulting in him being booed coming on in one game (forgot which one, a lot of the second half of last season hes blended into one now) which I remember people on here going on about at the time as being wrong. I think he got scapegoated a bit and along with the mess up behind the scenes last year with Beale etc. it's hit him hard and dragged him down. It's now unlikely he'll ever get on with us and best he moves on to get a chance.
That run in the team early on last season when Roberts was injured he was actually pretty good. The narrative turned to him being ‘another failed foreign transfer by Speakman’ but the truth is he’s contributed from time to time and hasn’t cost us much money.
you can tell this lad shouldn’t be in this league by some of the passes he plays and how he moves his head when he gets the ball. He’s going to be massive for us
There were a few '****ing hell that is good' moments last night. Looking forward to him settling in and seeing many more of them.
I agree but would love that ****er to have egg on his face after saying everyone they are after wants to go there.
Wilder is a good coach. But I dont think he believes every player wantals to go there. That is for the fans. I think Cannon to us remains very much alive.
Most of our signings come out of nowhere, Le Fee was totally out of the blue, rarely does anything get leaked these days. We have something the other 3 don’t, 40,000 every home game and a guaranteed sell out every away game, as a footballer you must want to play in front of the biggest crowds in the best stadiums, we are a huge pull these days for young players, I think we are the most attractive of the top four
Sometimes you need to when most of your options are out for a while. Looking at the squad with everyone fit and it’s not that necessary but we’ve really only got one winger currently fit. Aouchiche has done well but isn’t an out and out winger. Le Bris seems to want a versatile forward at least capable of playing wide. The more pressing position for me is fullback though. Ideally a forward that can play across the front three, a centre forward and a fullback that can play both sides.
While I agree with this if we can improve on Roberts now we should, I really rate him but at the very least he needs real competition
And some players simply don't want to play grindingly boring football ... ... Burnley are absolutely tedious and their keeper is an awful person. I wouldn't want him as a workmate.
It would take a lot of money to replace Roberts, just don't get all the criticism he gets, if he's not directly involved, ( ie showing in stats as assist or goal people have a go at him. Without realising that a lot of goals he is involved in the build up to the goal
