Really encouraged to see that the Ceasefire deal has been done. Apparently there was an unprecendented level of diplomacy and joined up work between the two US envoys McGurk and the incoming Witkoff to get it over the line, and that gives me hope that there are people in Trump's administration who will hold Netanyahu to account. Let's hope this ceasefire, hostage release and military withdrawal holds.
You seem to forget several things as usual. This isn't all about what Israel does, it also depends on the terrorist scum Hamas, not hiding behind women and children to fire rockets into Israel...how long will that hold, not long is my guess, because Hamas like Iran do not care about Palestinians. As future history will demonstrate, Iran and Hamas only have one goal and that is to iradicate Israel, but doubt they will have the balls on Trumps watch.
I’ll give it two years including Israel turning the other cheek over a few minor attacks along the way.
Were Egypt not involved in these peace talks? Considering they have had a border situation with Hamas for years now due to rampant smuggling operations, I am sure they'd be interested in this.
Point being that there seemingly wasn't in Biden's administration. That's why I'm pleasantly reassured that Trump's team actually will hold Netanyahu to account also Of course the Ceasefire, Hostage release and military withdrawal, is dependent on both sides cooperating, but it was the former point that I was making in the above comment.
Only the future will judge these last horrific 15 months. Clearly the number of kids killed and left without limbs is horrific and I’m pretty sure that saddens everyone. However unlikely, if peace holds and then still in 20-30 years time Israel and Palestinians have learned to live alongside each other without clashing, they’ll be a discussion to be had about whether Netanyahu was the man who finally took the actions needed to bring about lasting peace and stability.
Good of Egypt to pop up now after being oblivious to everything previously. Better late than never etc. ****houses.
Good in depth article here about the details of how the process of these negotiations unfolded https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2pp3y68w5o
Well yeah you are right, I very much doubted you would admit the terrorist scum Hamas led to women and children being killed as they were used as human shields. As for Biden his failings are clear to see. And everyone knows my thoughts on Netty being held to account, the same as Iran some day should be held to account for their part in this, but at least for the next four years they will think twice before making their next move.
I'll make my judgement after what happens tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday....especially on how many hostages get freed, because until then I wouldn't have agreed the deal on the original information, but I will wait and see what occurs in case that has changed.
Sounds like it’s going off. Hopefully the police crack a few skulls rather than the usual mincing about turning a blind eye to the peace-loving anti-racists.
Netanyahu will be burning in hell by that point. It’s gonna be crowded down there, he’ll probably have to share a space with Hamas.
