Ok first half overall. Despite all their pretty patterns and possession they've not really troubled us yet. It does concern me slightly that they clearly have more pace to exploit spaces down the sides of our full backs but overall it's not been a major issue yet. We certainly grew into the half and possibly should be 1 up based on quality of chances. Hope it doesn't come back to bite us
Just hope Riza doesn't go all negative. Keep doing the same thing. The Swans have to attack if they want anything out of this game, so more gaps will appear for us.
Please please please just don't concede now... What a confidence booster this could be for the rest of the season.
Cardiff sings. Swansea mumbles. Bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobirds
We need to back that performance up against Milwall and Derby. 4 points from those two games and we can breathe a little easier.
This could be huge in taking us forward now but as you say, have to back it up against Millwall now.. adrenaline won't be pumping as much but it's a vital game for us. A good day to be a Bluebird but a long way still to go yet for the season. Shame Omer reacted how he did with the Swans players barge but fully understand how his emotional state must have been. Would have been nice for him to be on the pitch at the end there.
Having watched that performance, we've got every chance. There is no question that Riza has everyone pulling in the same direction.
Luke Vetchwslker magnanimous in defeat...not. I'm also enjoying watching Lee Trundle tell the world that we deserved the win. What a wonderful Saturday.
Absolutely brilliant Every player was magnificent - difficult to call one MOM - Glen probably will give it to Robinson but for me Rhinomota was outstanding
O'Dowda is a negative to come out of the game, but the rest is positive. Omer will have a lot going on in his head. The players need to support him and play for him over the next few weeks. We've skirted with injuries for a month or so, but we should be getting a few back at the right time. We have options in a number of areas. A new striker, Etete back, Simic on his way back. That's 3 'big' strikers. Robinson on a run of form. Ashford in a purple patch and Davies a couple weeks off. That gives our attack a brighter look. We gave options at 10 with Robinson, Robertson and Colwill. Chambers has been a revelation in the holding midfield role. Becoming a box to box player. Similarly Rino as a right (wing) back. Robinson can be an 8. Another player in there and a bit of pace on the wing and that will see us safe and build a platform for next year. As for Omer, his maiden management appointment has been a bit of a roller coaster. If he can make us hard to beat and pick up a reasonable percentage of wins, I'd be happy to give him another year. He now seems to understand the players he has and has worked out how to use them. A bit more confidence in closing games out will see more points on the board. It's been a decent run of games that could have been better. Fingers crossed we can keep the run going and build on it. Get us safe and lay the groundwork for next season.
