I wouldn't cross him off just yet. It feels like that sort of signing that a side like Burnley would make specifically to help get them over the line this season. And then, if they do get promoted, bin him off. Not too dissimilar to what we did with Sharp.
Hmm, feel that's a bit disrespectful to Whittaker personally. Lazio were after him at one point so I wouldn't be binning him off if I were any team that signed him and got promoted.

One of the greatest of all time. Scored for Manchester City (one of the few to play for both clubs) against Saints at the Dell in 1974 as City achieved their first win there in the top flight. RIP
Aberdeen knocked him back because he was too skinny and wore glasses. I saw him play at Aberdeen in a friendly for Man City in 1973 - Franny Lee scored the winner - Tony Book was the captain, who also sadly died this week. RIP both.
Incredible scenes at Burnley which somehow ended 0-0. Trafford saved two Sunderland penalties, one of them in the last few minutes. Both pens were taken by Isidor. Got to feel a little sorry for him.
And Burnley still have only conceded 9 goals this season! (Which will likely remain the case after their next FA Cup tie).
