Other thing is, it's going to take time to get them up to the fitness required to play that style for 90 minutes, after the Russell Martin Social Club levels that they've been at.

Seems deeply unfair that Forest get an extra two days to prepare, but let's go again on Sunday.

    Unlucky @OddRiverOakWizards

Going two unbeaten (twice) isn't for everyone this season :bandit:

    Who's the next victim?

PS - Big Les was excellent again today. We lost a lot with him going off too.

I'll do it tomorrow. I have faith at the moment, though Forest are a really good team.

I'm all for an IOW invasion tbh, might make the season more enjoyable.

The disappointment I have is I think tonight could have been a bit of a turning point but will likely just be another blow to the squad's morale. That was such a **** way to lose and the awful third goal was the cherry on the turd pie.

I agree on the bigger picture though. 2 games isn't enough to be sure but we might have a passable first 11 now and I think fitness levels are going in the right direction. Completely agree on Smallbone, him coming on for Dibling was such an odd change.

Hopefully Sulemana can continue his reinvention into prime Mané.

Wallow in it? FT was less than an hour ago, it's still fairly fresh in the grand scheme of things!

This is a message board where people discuss Saints. This season more than any other in the entirety of our history fans have a right to be hugely hugely pissed off without being policed on negativity. Consider it noted that cat bumming and annexing of small pointless islands, is where you draw the line with SR before you might move from happy clapping to slightly miffed.

Yeah massive. Actually I thought our first 11 were way better than MU & if they’d had the stamina to continue, I think we could have got a result. Unfortunately & not Jurics fault, all our subs made us worse. Smallbone, AA & Tall Pail especially. Downes was okish & could be forgiven for being rusty but that’s what you get at this level.

There’s literally nothing there, apart from a few fibreglass dinosaurs.

Yep seemed strange, surely it should have been Armstrong at that point in time. Like for like albeit less quality

Overall it’s hard to argue that it wasn’t way better than anyone expected it would be. Clearly had a system in place and executed it very well for 70 minutes or so. Subs changed the game for both sides. Downes hasn’t impressed me at all this season, just runs around with no brakes, picks up so many yellows and seems to never be in the right place. The last 10 minutes really left a bitter taste.

One thing I really hope (and I know I’m being incredibly naive based on the evidence) is that we will actually turn up in games where we can get points because we will easily give some teams in the lower half a good game with a performance like that.

And I’ll be absolutely ****ing fuming if we finally get performances out of Sulemana only to have him get shipped off in the summer. If he can play like this consistently that’s the kinda player you need to be keeping, not offloading.

Absolutely. The subs changed both sides. Downes was poor, didn’t help he came on and instantly got a yellow, and Smallbone hasn’t played in months. Just shows the depth we lack at this level.

The ugo for onu sub was strange. We needed to get control of midfield, so we bring on a big target man.
