You would hope that Selles has approved all this ...?.... as someone has said previously.. if he keeps us up, give him the keys to the city. And if he does keep us up any other club with real ambition will poach him in the summer.
32 I recall. So not as old by any stretch. If it's a 6 month deal on low wages and he's here specifically in a mentoring role and to provide a little bit of nous late in games then I don't see a problem with it. Obviously if we're bringing him in on 20k a week on a 3 year deal then it would be madness, but I highly doubt that will be the case. From Baz's article it seems he's being brought in with nominal risk, though of course that won't stop the moaners moaning.
Because he can talk to other clubs now ahead of summer and he'd effectively just be working his notice. Would you commit 100% and risk injury if you've got a summer move lined up?
Amrabat is a curious deal. Can't really imagine how a 37-year old on the wing works, but I'm sure there'll be examples of players who've done it well. Not sure I agree with the people saying it's a typical Acun signing; I guess he's coming from Greece which neighbours Turkey but that seems a stretch. I remember him tearing us apart for Watford at Vicarage Road once. Might've been the 2016/17 season. I think my biggest concern might be how this all works numbers wise. We do have wingers, it's just that they're not that great. With Kamara, Burstow and Amrabat you'll have three wingers who aren't really ones you want as first choice right now. Gelhardt sounds like he might play on the wing, but then you'd probably still want another, and then you've got five wingers which is a bit much.
I just mentioned the other day how Woodburn used to be linked with us every window. Funny that that one's come up again.
I'm not sure I'd take him; he's ended up at Salford because nobody else would take him and although he's doing alright there, I can't help but feel he's on a downward trajectory.
Couldn't agree more. That team would have been pushing for a top two spot this season. Although it splits opinion, I can see why the owner got pissed off missing out last season. If he can pay silly money for people like Sinik what did have to fork out for that lot?
