Barnard has been out of action for 6 or 7 months. I would have thought it will be a little while longer until he is match fit, confident and firing on all sylinders unfortunately.

Tbf, he needs football to get match fit. I don't know what the situation is with our reserve/U21 fixtures is at the moment (have we had any recently?), but he could do with playing in some of them.

Alternatively, should Lambert and Connolly both be back fit next month, and we also sign another striker, then sending Barnard out on a short loan spell could help (ie one month). Doesn't particularly matter what team we loan him too (although the higher quality the team is, the better), just so long as they promise to play him every week.

Agreed. Bring Barnard on 2nd half if goals needed but give Ben a shot. We need a specialist striker in there, not someone playing out of position.
