Reading the article, it seems (as has been said before) that he is still over-complicating the game. He talks about going to Sandhurst - reading up on this and learning about that - and applying all the tech - which is all well and good - but if you try and manage a football team by mathematics it won’t work.
There’s an instinct to football management that can’t be ‘calculated’ using stats and drones. If he seriously wants to get back to managing a professional football team he needs to rely more on his gut feelings and less on technology.
    I wish him well.

All valid points. The modern game does need some new technology and thinking (as much as it irks some fans), but you also need some good nous and gut instinct on how to manage players and in game situations.

Tactics are all well and good, and stats can help. But managing a team of players is as much about man management, the trick is combining the two.

Spot on and as yet he hasn't learned this part......I doubt he'll ever understand, he's too full of himself.

As a self-confessed beer monster, I’m not sure I like this idea.
For me, personally it would be a positive thing because I could take my half-time beer to my seat and drink it leisurely, instead of slamming it down in 5 mins (which is why I don’t often bother), but it would probably mean more people constantly pushing past you all the time to go for a piss, or to get a refill, and getting showered with beer every time we score…..

EDIT: Apparently it’s only for the women’s games???, if so then it won’t affect me at all!!!

It’s not often that I feel aligned with a gas head, but on this I absolutely do.
I assume they would have paid money for their registration number - to the DVLA.
I also assume that the number was used originally on a new car ‘naturally’ with no issues.
If the DVLA are decommissioning something (for a nonsense reason) that has been bought and paid for from them then they should offer an alternative free of charge or offer a full refund plus compensation.
You have to pay a fee every time you change plates. I would expect that free of charge too - plus compensation for the inconvenience.
What a load of exasperating nonsense.

Could it be he's not done particularly well with any of the clubs he's managed, especially since he left City ?

To be fair he wasn’t doing badly at Sunderland when they sacked him.
If I remember rightly they had just suffered a heavy defeat, but overall their league position was quite healthy(?)

The joys of management at most clubs unfortunately.
He was doing reasonably well at Barnsley until he jumped ship and came to us
And before that I seem to recall he was doing quite well at Oldham before he jumped ship to Barnsley ?

That Wolves game what when it all went Pete tong for LJ’s side.
We should never have lost that game - but we did - and what followed was a slow and steady decline - directionless drab defensive football.
It’s incredible how different the football was after that game - it was like watching a completely different side to the one that had been playing so well up to that point.
