So Mr and Mrs G have been our new owners for a little while, and not knowing much about English Soccer have so far relied on what was in place when they took over. I am sure after lengthy due diligence they are now more aware of what their investment needs to continue. They have always stated it was to be a Family Affair, uniting supporters and families/children in an equal cause. Enjoyment at Priestfields united in supporting Gillingham FC. So far not a lot to support, we seem to be stuck in a rut with players of an alledged calibre not working with Gaffers or each other. We now have what seems to be another Steve Evans, maybe its what we need to kick ass. Also Neil Harris after standing down ( Not Sacked ) from Millwall after taking them to higher heights. Has been seen in the stands and I have heard it seems in discussions again. Now I feel we have a Gaffer who takes NO for an answer who hopefully through postponed matches has time to sort things out. Harris may be back as Football Director, with Barret as scout. So what of Hess, maybe to sort the academy or up the road. A complete clearout of what was in place when Mr and Mrs G took over. Maybe they know enough now to move things on
As my good friend, brb will tell you - I 'study' men in shorts !!!... I reckon that in view of the current freezing conditions, I might be able to judge the worthiness of each squad member - by the colour of his legs..... If he's moving around sufficiently and quick enough, his legs won't be purple................... always providing that he's not wearing his socks as if they were stockings !
.......and for a more sensible post I see that Alex Giles has been recalled from his loan period.... I'd like to think that he will be given a fair assessment by Coleman.... I know that Alex is only 19 - but - so is the loanee from Palace --and he would probably expect to feature in the squad- if not in the starting line-up...... so - why not Giles.... He is a centre-back - who, by now, has experienced 'mens' football ..... and I bet he is quicker than my favourite (stocking-wearing) centre-back. Whilst it's still mathematically possible to reach top 7 (( or bottom 2 )), perhaps we need to start looking at next season - and give some of the youngsters more experience. ... that's what I think
I agree it seems on the cards that we will have to wait it out again, but we seasoned Gills fans are used to it. I would like to see us back in the Championship before I meet my maker lolol
