We watched 7/7 The London Bombings last night . Very well made . Very very Tragic Very interesting and very Thought provoking . I had forgotten about the Spanish Bombings andthe 4 other failed attempts in London , I doremember the poor young Brazilian who got shot.He was totally innocent . And because they thought he was a suicidebomber and the only way to be sure ofincapacitating them , is to shoot them in the head , they certainly did that ! well worth a watch IMHO .
Yup watched it too ... remember it very well - the 7/7 bombers got on the train at Luton - I was working at Capability Green (near Luton Airport Parkway station - next one towards London) at the time and was due to go to a client meeting in London that morning and would likely have been on that train but the client cancelled ... The train they were on wasn't affected - they split up once it got to King's Cross..
Obviously glad to know your meeting was cancelled , life / coincidences can be very hard to understand sometimes .
Thing that sticks in my mind most was how tough it was for some Muslims on the trains for weeks after ... People would get up and move seats etc as well as the odd derogatory comment ... remember one day a group of OAPs got up and moved because an asian girl in a headscarf got on at St Albans ... I was sitting opposite the girl who looked really distressed - I just gave her what I hope was a reassuring smile and got an obviously relieved one in return ...
Yeah don't think I'll watch it, some things are just too close for comfort and it will just stir negative emotions.
