Just posted on Match thread that according to opta stats Madsen completed 26 passes, 2 crosses and made 0 tackles......

 

To be fair he sports a decent Barnet, granted he's no Pellicori or Di Carmine but even so...

21 of those passes were backwards or sideways.

 

He's a would-be Mike Fillery.

 

Varane has really stepped up but Madsen just hasn’t quite got the intensity and speed of this league yet. Will it come? Who knows. Same with Anderson.

 

If I remember rightly he wasn't a bad player..... maybe there's hope.....

 

Can't see him starting again anytime soon. I would look to the u21's before selecting him.

 

With his terrible stats, how did he get through Nourry’s data models and why does Marti still think he can cope at this level?

 

He fits the profile for someone shopping for talent on the internet. He is 24 years old and has been capped repeatedly for Denmark at various age categories. Danish footballers generally are not known for shirking a hard tackle or lack of grafting. This should be an eye-opener for anyone who relies on the Internet for useful information. There is no substitute for heeding the advice of someone experienced who has actually watched him play a number of times. Wasn't Hughes guilty of the same- buying a load of dross from Kia (call me Del Boy) Joorabchian except in his case it was compounded by the conflict of interest for Hughes between his employer (QPR) and his minder (KJ) ?

 

If Anderson hasn't worked it out by now he never will. Capable of real quality but rarely exhibits it...

 

I think what little pace Andersen had has gone which can happen at his age. Defensively I’d still have him over Madders but we’re far more solid without a ‘ten’.
