Remember "lock stock and barrel"? Thank you ESI, and the League for allowing the tawdry deal to go through. I imagine that if CAFC moves to a new ground The Valley ceases to be a community asset,, therefore open to development.
Charlton midfielder Terry Taylor is a loan target for Bolton and Dundee in this month’s transfer Window. Not good enough for us but good enough for Bolton. What a joke.
As an extra l also feel that they don’t want promotion, which looks obvious on the face of it, as they can I still can’t get my head around spending 11m for a club running up six to 8 million losses. It’s mind blowing tbh!
I can understand us not shelling out the dosh to buy, we don't have it, but getting rid of our best players unnecessarily is infuriating. Dobbo, CBT and Alfie last season, and probably Jones in January and Leaburn in the summer. Andy Scott has done his share of the damage, but now it's down to the manager, and his record is even worse. He didn't rate Alfie, replaced him with Godden Hylton and Gas, who don't even play, and seems set to offload TT while keeping A Campbell. How can the fans trust his judgement of a player? Not to mention Potts- oops, I just did.
“ I can’t understand supposedly ambitious owners not spending in January. It’s not as if they spent much last Summer, and it would have been even less had they not sold Alfie May. Charlie Methven needs to stop hiding behind forum stooges, and explain where the money has gone.
We’ll never be successful with Charlie and Scott pulling the strings, they’re just lining their pockets until the “lenders” get bored with the losses
One of your better posts I can see the time coming very quickly, regardless of where we finish, the Yanks will see they have had two seasons of total failure. I can see them making changes for next season. At worst Methven will keep his job but Gerry Adams and Scott will get the boot.
Cannot get disappointed in being knocked out, we're not going to win the cup, and any money generated will only be put to reducing our hefty losses.
Nathan Jones has confirmed in his post match interview tonight that we are in transfer talks with an international striker from Asia. “I spoke to Andy Scott before the game, and he’s promised me we are signing Foo Kin Nowun”
My usual (reliable) contact in the fanbase has messaged me to say that there is definite Championship interest in both Miles Leaburn & Lloyd Jones in January. This is the acid test for Methven & Scott now. We have got two good players out of a squad of 25, and both are drifting out of contract. The usual “we couldn’t stand in his way” bollocks won’t cut the mustard, not when the club has just Tweeted an appeal for fans to buy half season Season Tickets. There are only three possible outcomes now, and two of them should spell the end for Methven & Scott if they materialise. 1. The owners reward both players with new long term contracts in January, 2. Complete silence, no contract offers but both players stay (known as “blagging it”). Both become free agents / worth next to nothing for CAFC, and leave for nothing this Summer. 3. The SMT sells Leaburn & Lloyd Jones in January. No doubt “option 3” would also see a pitiful attempt to camouflage their greed, by hastily bringing in 2/3 free agents / has beens >>> Luton mates as ‘replacements’.
Leaburn’s Contract runs to 2026. Jones I think will leave. He has had a contract offer from us but I doubt he will sign it. I think we will keep him till the Summer. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he is sold towards the end of the window.
There’s at least six Championship clubs interested in signing Leaburn. The signing on fee alone would set him up financially. You can imagine there’s plenty going on behind the scenes.
