I wasn't able to watch the game but when I saw the 1-2 score it was quite what I expected to be honest. Someone said there was a forced substitution but didn't see that mentioned on City's site so did a player get injured? Back to the league I suppose but I think we are many short of the load needed to get us in the top six and feel we will finish mid-table at best. Backwards football will never win us a Cup of any kind, and as far as league ambitions go I think the same old same old isn't, and never will be, enough to progress upwards. Why do we continue to want to be below average year after year?
I see that Weimann got the winning goal for Blackburn and remind me why we got rid of him. Was it his wages?
Surprised Fally came out for the 2nd half. Manning coating fans off for cheering him being subbed. You left him on Manning.
Let's face it we wasted all of the money we spent on Fally as I can't ever seeing him reaching the level needed to stay on at Ashton Gate. It looks like Cornick might be on his way in January with Burnley being a possible destination and that would free up about 15K on the weekly wage bill. We are just spinning our wheels in the team re-development department as we never seem to be able to get the right players or the correct mix in skills.
Looks like Twine (I think))lost his man for Wolves first goal. The second showed up why we're as far away as Christmas.......it was just sheer brilliance......running at pace, superb 1 touch and then dink past Max in under a second. Sheer quality. Our lot can't trap cement.
I was gutted when Weimann was moved on. He’s a better option than anyone we have currently. This club does have an infuriating habit of getting rid of decent players and bring in in dross. I’d go as far as to say even Big Dave could do a better job for us than Fally or Armstrong right now.
Hardly surprising, he was asked to play in nigh on every position except GK and CB under Nige. He ruined him.
Nige didn’t rate him and ‘managed him out’. Bizarre really. Maybe wages played their part? He was one of the top earners, but I’m sure he would have been open to a reduction. It seemed that Nige simply had no place for him - and my goodness we miss him now.
Wells took a pay cut, so why not offer the same to Andi? I get that wages were a factor, but wages can be negotiated and it seemed Nige wasn’t interested in negotiating with Andi at all - and yet signed Simpson on what was said at the time was £15k per week. EDIT: Apparently he was managed out AFTER Nige had gone. I haven’t checked on Google yet but it would appear that way. If so, Nige is in the clear (sorry Nige). My main point stands though; we shouldn’t have got rid of him - and we could do with him now - and he’s worth Fally and Armstrong’s wages combined.
It was down to a clause in his contract - not exactly sure what it was, either an extension, or wage increase were banded around at the time. He was a handful of games away from triggering that, so that’s why he was loaned to WBA.
Fally looked so promising in his first game for us, really strange.. It’s like someone has replaced his legs with concrete!!
I still hope he comes good, but in that first game against Millwall I was sat directly behind him in the Lansdown, had a perfect view of his goal and I guarantee you he miskicked and scuffed the shot.
